The HR Coordinator is a **Permanent Full-Time** position based at Nch’ḵaỷ’s Head Office. Our Head Office is in West Vancouver, BC on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Sḵw̱xwú7mesh (Squamish) Nation and its people. **Scope of the Position**

Reporting to the HR Manager, the Human Resources Coordinator is a key role that provides administrative support to various HR functions, projects, and initiatives, including benefits administration, training and development, and recruitment. The HR coordinator will assist Nch’ḵaỷ Team Members with a broad range of HR-related inquiries, create and maintain HR documents, and liaise with other divisions as required.

**A. Duties, Responsibilities, Authority, and Accountabilities**

**a) Team Member Support**
- Assist Team Members with HR inquiries by providing timely, accurate information or by directing them to the appropriate HR Team Member.
- Assist with HR transaction requests, including employee changes and employment verification letters.

**b) HR Documentation**
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, ensuring compliance with Nch’ḵaỷ policies and legal requirements.
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of HR documentation including forms, letters, contracts, and procedures.
- Perform data entry tasks to update employee information and maintain HR databases accurately.

**c) Recruitment Support**
- Coordinate interview schedules and prepare interview packages.
- Assist in the preparation of employment offers and coordination of the onboarding process for new hires.
- Update the monthly Org Chart.

**d) Training and Development**
- Assist with coordination of training sessions and workshops for employees.
- Track and monitor employee training progress and compliance.
- Process approved training authorization forms.

**e) Event Coordination**
- Assist in the planning and organizing of Nch’ḵaỷ events, team-building activities, and employee engagement initiatives.

**B. Other**
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of a positive workplace culture.
- Stay informed about HR trends and best practices to contribute to continuous improvement.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Adheres to and promotes Nch’ḵaỷ’s six Guiding Principles (Leadership, Trust, Respect, Wisdom, Competence, and Passion).

**C. Reporting Responsibilities and Authorities from Supervisor**
- Reports to the Manager, Human Resources

D. **Knowledge, Skills, and Experience**
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an HR Coordinator or in a similar HR role.
- Knowledge of HR functions, policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to meet competing deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to provide an exceptional customer service experience.
- Proficient in MS Office; experience with HR Information Systems (HRIS) is an asset.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Experience working with First Nations is an asset.
