Middleware Support Specialist

**What can I expect to do in this role?**: In this job, you will:
- Co-ordinate problem determination and develop and implement resolutions to data recovery/integrity and security issues involving multi-tier, multi-platform integration
- Provide troubleshooting advice and services to government technical support staff
- Develop and recommend policies and procedures to maintain technical integrity, backup, recovery and security control of systems and data
- Provide cost and estimate monitoring reports on systems resource utilization
- Monitor compliance to service level agreements and implement remedial action with service providers
- Provide oversight to operational and project activities by completing tasks and assigning tasks to consultants
- Participates in 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year on-call support to ensure continuous availability of the hosted production systems.
**How do I qualify?**:
**Technical Knowledge**:
- Expert knowledge and experience in deploying, managing and integrating systems deployed to Microsoft Azure including experience managing Virtual Machines, VNETs, Application Gateways, App Services, Azure SQL, Storage Accounts, Key Vaults, and similar resources
- Experience monitoring and troubleshooting systems in Azure with the Azure Monitor suite of tools (Application Insights, Log Analytics Workspace, Alerts, Workbooks, Dashboards, and similar)
- Expert knowledge and experience defining infrastructure as code with tools such as Terraform, ARM, bicep, and similar
- Expert knowledge and experience defining, deploying and troubleshooting CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps
- Expert knowledge and experience with Microsoft and Windows-based systems
- Experience developing automation scripts in Powershell, Azure CLI and similar scripting languages and tools to automate deployment and configuration tasks
- Experience with administering Linux-based systems
- Knowledge of current and evolving industry trends in technology pertaining to cloud delivery, hybrid cloud and on-premises system delivery, and integration with modern SaaS platforms (such as Dynamics 365 online, Salesforce and similar)
- Knowledge of government directives, standards, policies and guidelines governing systems development and use/acquisition of information technology
- Expert knowledge and experience in the day-to-day operations and support of Enterprise systems and servers using industry-standard IT Service Management concepts such as Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL)
**Analytical and Problem Solving Skills**:
- Ability to work with teams both within the branch and across the broader organization to solve complex technical and business problems
- Ability to review and analyze systems management issues/concerns/initiatives
- Ability to identify and define multi-platform system integration problems and co-ordinate complex resolution processes
- Ability to co-ordinate the systems management function by developing technical design features and alternatives to ensure effective system backup, recovery and security
- Ability to develop systems assurance guidelines and initiate procedures to improve reliability, availability and integrity
**Communication Skills**:
- Ability to effectively collaborate and share technical knowledge within the team and with colleagues across the cluster
- Ability to prepare reports, briefs and papers on systems management/database policies and standards and write reports on systems performance, including assessment of technical specifications and considerations

- Ability to clearly and concisely communicate to quickly solve problems
- Ability to make presentations to management and technical staff
