**Coach Atlantic Maritime Bus** is currently recruiting a **Payroll Coordinator**, in our Halifax, NS location.

The **Payroll Coordinator** is responsible for assisting in multiple financial activities relating to the company’s bi-weekly payroll functions.

**Job Duties**
- Preparation and administration of payroll for all company employees, while auditing payroll processing reports for accuracy.
- Prepare documentation and forms, such as records of employment, income tax forms, and remittances.
- Administration of employee programs (e.g. health benefits, RRSP’s, etc.).
- Answer all employee questions about payroll, healthcare and benefit plans.
- Implement salary increases/ bonuses in accordance with instructions given.
- Maintain detailed records and documentation of payroll functions for audit purposes, in accordance with statutory requirements.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure pay and personnel records are accurate and up to date.
- Reconcile benefits statements.
- File documents into appropriate employee files.
- Process required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record keeping and proper deductions.
- Provide support to the Human Resource department as requested by management, which can include, data entry, file maintenance, as well as participation in the recruiting process.

**Assets**
- Post-secondary diploma/degree/certificate in Accounting, Business, or Finance is preferred
- Having 1-3 years’ experience a Payroll coordinator
- Advanced proficiency payroll programs (ie Payworks).

**Requirements**:

- Experience in processing salaries, bonuses, commissions, and other forms of compensation.
- Knowledge of audits, income tax forms, RRSP programs, health benefits programs and sick pay.
- Must be able to handle confidential information in an ethical and professional manner.
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
- Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Solid customer service focus.
- Politically and culturally sensitive.
- Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently.
- Highly conscientious, along with an energetic and mature approach to his or her work.
- Strong knowledge of current employment law matters.
- Overtime as required.
