**Duties**:
As directed by the supervisor, research technician and current guidelines, the incumbent will provide general and technical support:

- To support the development and implementation of climate change and infrastructure tools, guidance and training materials for knowledge translation and dissemination.
- To conduct research and summarize findings on issues related to climate change and infrastructure policy, resiliency measures, natural infrastructure, etc.
- To promote collaboration and partnership with external stakeholders and partners.

The Environment & Infrastructure Policy Directorate actively supports policy work involving sustainable and resilient infrastructure to help both adapt to and mitigate the effects of climate change, as well as environmental issues like water quality, natural infrastructure, and the circular economy. Our portfolio includes challenging issues that are being faced by policymakers in Canada and through contact with national stakeholders.

**Intent of the process**:
The majority of our positions are located in Ottawa, with a number of positions in Montreal, and some in Vancouver. INFC will be reviewing its office footprint in the coming months and telework agreements may be considered to advance regional presence beyond Montreal and Vancouver, only on a case-by-case basis. In accordance with INFC’s current hybrid work model, employees hired within their position’s geographic work location are required to work in the office 40% of each month (e.g. approximately 2 days a week).

Currently enrolled in a Degree or Master’s program in a recognized post-secondary academic institution with specialization in:

- Infrastructure management and planning
- Urban Planning
- Geography and Environmental Management
- Environmental Engineering
- Climate and Environmental Change
- Environment
- Sustainable energy engineering
- Sustainable Energy Policy
- Related science program or other related field.

Degree equivalency

**Experience**:

- Experience in developing and undertaking research activities.
- Experience in collecting or analyzing data.
- Experience in preparing reports.

**Experience**:

- Experience in working on community-based activities related to climate change adaptation or mitigation.

Knowledge:

- Familiarity with infrastructure policy issues relating to: provinces, territories and municipalities, urban and rural communities, climate change, environmental quality, or natural infrastructure, public transit and/or gender, diversity and inclusion.
