What will you do?
- Supervise train, and monitor performance of IT Applications staff (union)
- Assign tasks and arranging project schedules
- Conduct performance appraisals and provide support and direction to help staff achieve their objectives
- Lead the installation, maintenance and upgrading of IT systems and components in conjunction with IT union staff
- Perform assessments and troubleshooting on IT systems and operations
- Write reports and making recommendations regarding IT management and improvement
- Ensure the integrity, security, and compliance of all IT provincial and local policies and procedures
- Oversee the installation of systems, which include software and hardware
- Accountability for quality assurance related to the portfolio, including the performance of tests and trouble shooting
- Implement safety procedures and data recovery plans
- Lead the development of user manuals, as well as policies, procedures, and IT protocols
- Collaborate with other departments and professionals in the development of IT systems
- Ensure all installations, maintenance, and upgrades are carried out on schedule and to client specifications
- Delegate tasks and participating in budget maintenance and work scheduling
- Staying up-to-date with field advancements and ensuring the team receives refresher training as well
- Report directly to the Director of IT or Designated Authority
- Lead HNHB IT staff through change management events by analyzing impact upon HNHB processes and coordinating with external and internal contacts
- Oversee and assists in the generation of reports and departmental KPIs as required/directed
- Interact with technical teams to log issues, register change requests, provide business requirements for new developments while ensuring relevance and business continuity
- Information Security - accountable for maintenance and monitoring of Application security within the HNHB environment. This may include, but is not limited to user permissions, domain and physical security of HNHB assets
- In collaboration with the Director, Information Technology, leads the design, maintenance and testing of BCP and DRP processes for all Application or Integrations assigned to this role and the IT department in general
- Recruit, screen, interview and recommend the appointment of assigned staff
- Conduct performance appraisals and provides support and direction to help staff achieve their objective
- Authorize vacation time, overtime and use of compensating time
- Participate on HCCSS internal and external committees as required
- Embody HCCSS mission, vision and values and applies quadruple aim (enhancing patient experience, enhancing provider/staff experience, improving value and improving populations health) to support continuous quality improvement in daily work

What you must have?
- Community College diploma or University Degree in Computer studies is required
- Certification in ITIL, Microsoft or other IT certification is required
- Over 5 years experience in the field of Information Technology
- 2+ years in a supervisory role supporting a large organization and a team of 5+ IT staff
- Experience managing a team in a unionized environment
