**This is a Hybrid position located in Ottawa.**
**Position Summary**
Reporting to the Project Managers and member of the Project Core Team, the key element of the **PMO Manager** is to ensure that the project operates as “one team” and consistency is achieved and maintained across the various project activities including schedule, cost, communication and relationship management. On behalf of the Project Managers, this individual will carry out an integral role, responsible for the project business rhythm and all associated governance aspects in order to ensure successful delivery. The PMO manager will develop excellent relationships with varied and multiple internal stakeholders within a strong matrix organization. The role requires highly developed networking and influencing skills that can ensure Thales delivers the right project outcomes at the right time and to the right quality.
**Essential Functions / Key Areas of Responsibility**

- Highlight areas of schedule and cost concern and identify potential actions for improving performance.
- Monitor project milestone status and advise the Project Manager of project tasks or event issues that might impact on key milestones.
- Ensure data transfer, data coordination between various program management software systems to ensure capture of accurate performance data.
- Reconcile performance data generated from the systems with real project performance through communication with members of the project team.
- Prepare Engineering Change Proposals including quote generation.
- Support Project Managers in the assessment of the project performance.
- Regularly report to the Project team on progress and project performance.
- Support analysis of project schedule and cost performance.
- Assist the PM in resource levelling and other appropriate suitable techniques to identify suitable project execution strategies to reduce execution costs and improve schedule performance.
- Assist Project Manager with managing project resources.
- Support the PM to control and manage requirements, support establishment of project baseline, project structure (WBS, OBS, RAM), and work package descriptions.
- Prepare monthly reports and financial reports.
- Schedule and attend identified meetings, prepare agendas, minutes, and track action items.
- Support project activities such as risk management, change management, communications management, action items, project closure, lessons learned, travel requirements, project business rhythm, development and analysis of project metrics, development and update of project plans, relationship management with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Support the PM with other duties as required.
- Serve as the PMO Work Package Manager (WPM) on the project.
- Liaise with other WPMs in support of project needs/requirements.
- Under direction of the Director, Project Management Office, ensure that best practice PMO processes and controls are adopted throughout the project.
- Lead and motivate a high performing cross-disciplinary integrated team by providing PMO direction, coaching, and support.
**Minimum Requirements: Skills, Experience, Education, Technical/Specialized Knowledge, Certifications, Language**
- 5 + Years of experience in project management domain.
- Demonstrated analytical skills.
- A high level of computing skills particularly with MS Office.
- Excellent communications skills including the ability to prepare and present reports to a range of audiences.
- Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to promote cooperation at all levels.
**Preferred Qualifications**
- Certified Practicing Project Manager or equivalent.
- Post graduate qualifications or trainings in the area of Business, Finance/Accounting, Project Management, or Engineering.
- Use of JIRA.
- Prior experience in engineering industry is desirable.
