Overall Purpose/Broad Function

As a member of the NI HQ Program Operations Unit, this position will be responsible for supporting activities related to the overall management of field operations in NI's core countries in Asia and Africa.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

The broad function of this position is support to grant management, reporting, and team coordination.

Learning

Working with field staff and technical experts, prepare donor reports according to NI's contractual obligations; participate in management reporting meetings or calls, as necessary.
Support program learning processes and activities through after-action reviews, significant change stories, and lessons learned documentation.
Support the team to make improvements on reporting – processes and quality.
Ensure gender equality is well integrated into reports and technical sign-off has been received.

Program and Administrative Support

Provide support to grant managers to improve the implementation of designated projects or programs.
Liaise with NI's technical team to ensure adequate technical oversight and quality assurance.
Work closely with members of the Regional and HQ based Monitoring and Reporting team to support the development and implementation of monitoring plans such that these provide high quality and timely project level data.
Support the development and socialization of new project management tools, templates and processes and provide change implementation support.
Assist with Program Ops-related activity or event management, such as travel assistance and the related logistics requirements (venue, food, accommodation).

Contracts

Support the development of HQ-initiated contracts from initiation through signing and final payments for designated projects or programs.
Write and facilitate the development of quality terms of reference (TORs) and consult key stakeholders, as necessary.
Troubleshoot when problems occur between field teams and NI's HQ contracts team.

Educational Experience

An undergraduate degree in nutrition, public health, international development and/or a related field;
4 to 6 years of work experience with NGOs, and/or UN agencies working with public health, food security, and/or nutrition related programs;
Experience with donor contract management and reporting;
Project management certification/training or actual project management experience is preferred;
Able to work as part of multi-cultural global team in a dynamic and growing organization;
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and other project management software.
Superior communications skills (oral and written) including good technical writing and presentation skills is essential; experience writing terms of references (TORs) or contracts is desirable.
Good planning, organizing and coordination skills. Detail-oriented.
