Nipissing Serenity Hospice is a 10-bed, bilingual, residential hospice located in North Bay, Ontario serving the residents of the Nipissing and East Parry Sound Districts. The Hospice provides around the clock palliative care by an expert multi-disciplinary team in a peaceful setting for people of all ages at the end of life. Support is also extended to caregivers and families. At Nipissing Serenity Hospice we strive to ensure compassion, comfort and dignity at end of life.

The Kitchen Coordinator is responsible for all functions of the commercial kitchen under the direction of the Executive Director. The Kitchen Coordinator is primarily responsible for all aspects of food service as well as to provide direction and work collaboratively with all other Hospice staff and volunteers regarding meal preparation and food service for residents, visitors and other staff members.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Safe Food Handling Certification is required;
- Successful completion of a post-secondary diploma in Culinary Arts is considered an asset;
- Minimum of three years’ experience;
- Ability to identify measures of performance and actions needed to improve or correct performance;
- Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret goals, objectives, and policies;
- Excellent communication skills;
- Effective interpersonal and conflict resolution skills;
- Good organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task;
- Customer service-oriented;
- Must have working knowledge of special diets;
- Demonstrates initiative and ability to work with mínimal supervision;
- Ability to identify issues and implement creative and strategic solutions to overcome problems;
- Effective leadership skills, with a strong focus on mentoring and motivation of volunteers & employees where necessary;
- Ability to delegate, set expectations, and monitor progress of all volunteers;
- Ability to remain calm and poised in urgent situations;
- Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering, as well as inventory control of these items;
- Clear Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) & Clear Criminal Record Check (CRC);
- Bilingualism an asset (English and French).

La Maison Sérénité du Nipissing est un centre de soins palliatifs résidentiel bilingue de 10 lits situé à North Bay, en Ontario, qui dessert les résidents des districts de Nipissing et de l'est de Parry Sound. L'hospice fournit des soins palliatifs 24 heures sur 24 par une équipe multidisciplinaire experte dans un cadre paisible pour les personnes de tous âges en fin de vie. RÉSUMÉ DU POSTE

Sous la direction du directeur général, le ou la Coordonnateur(trice) de la cuisine est responsable de toutes les fonctions de la cuisine commerciale. Il/elle est principalement responsable de tous les aspects du service alimentaire ainsi que de fournir des directives et de travailler en collaboration avec tous les autres employés et bénévoles de la Maison de soins palliatifs en ce qui a trait à la préparation des repas et au service alimentaire pour les résidents, les visiteurs et les autres membres du personnel.

EXIGENCES DU POSTE
- Un certificat de sécurité en matière de manipulation des aliments est exigé ;
- Un diplôme d'études postsecondaires en arts culinaires est considéré comme un atout ;
- Minimum de trois ans d'expérience ;
- Capacité à identifier les mesures de performance et les actions nécessaires pour améliorer ou corriger la performance ;
- Capacité à planifier, organiser, développer, mettre en œuvre et interpréter les buts, les objectifs et les politiques ;
- Excellentes aptitudes à la communication ;
- Compétences interpersonnelles et de résolution des conflits ;
- Bonne capacité d'organisation et de gestion du temps, avec la possibilité d'effectuer plusieurs tâches à la fois ;
- Orientation vers le service à la clientèle ;
- Doit avoir une connaissance pratique des régimes alimentaires spéciaux ;
- Faire preuve d'initiative et être capable de travailler avec un minimum de supervision ;
- Capacité à identifier les problèmes et à mettre en œuvre des solutions créatives et stratégiques pour les résoudre ;
- Compétences de leadership efficaces, avec un fort accent sur le mentorat et la motivation des bénévoles et des employés, le cas échéant ;
- Capacité à déléguer, à définir les attentes et à suivre les progrès de tous les bénévoles ;
- Capacité à rester calme et posé dans des situations urgentes ;
- Connaissance de la commande de fournitures, d'équipements et/ou de services, ainsi que du contrôle de l'inventaire de ces articles ;
