Montreal Gateway Terminals Partnership (MGT), one of the leading operators at the Port of Montreal, is actively seeking a Vice President Business Development and Sales to join its team of seasoned executives.
**About Us**:
MGT manages two terminals, Cast and Racine, operational since 1969 and 1978 respectively. Our strategic location, competitive costs, well-developed intermodal connections, and unparalleled railway efficiency provide cost and time advantages to maritime companies. With over 5,000 feet of quay and the capacity to move over 6,500 containers per day, MGT handled approximately 900,000 TEUs in 2022, representing 55% of the total traffic at the Port of Montreal.
**The Opportunity**:
Reporting directly to the President and CEO, the Vice President Business Development dans Sales will be a vital member of the executive team. Responsible for business development, identifying new markets, and implementing innovative strategies, this role requires a growth and customer satisfaction-focused approach.
**Responsibilities**:
- Contribute to MGT's strategic planning.
- Promote MGT as the preferred container terminal in Canada.
- Develop relationships with maritime companies, freight forwarders, and shippers.
- Lead commercial activities and contract negotiations.
- Monitor performance and customer satisfaction.
- Conduct market analysis and traffic projections.
**Profile**:
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, commerce, or a related field.
- An MBA would be an asset.
- Minimum of 10 years of commercial experience in terminal and/or liner shipping sectors.
- Excellent strategic vision, sound business judgment, and political acumen.
- Participative and concrete management style.
- Bilingual with excellent oral and written communication skills.
- High energy level with determination, resilience to challenges, and stress resistance.
- Strong conceptual skills and the ability to think imaginatively to drive innovation.
