**The salary range for this position is**:
**Recruitment range: $57,286- $63,157** starting salary determined by the PEA Collective Agreement.

**Performance range: starting salary to max of $74,482** is available through annual performance increases.
- Job SummaryUnder the guidance and support of the Development Officer, the External Relations (Development) Coordinator will be responsible for fulfilling activities and duties that support the Faculty’s overarching fundraising and community engagement efforts.

The incumbent will support donor and alumni relations and stewardship activities, support partnership development, conduct prospect research, provide sponsorship support and assist with fundraising projects, support significant/milestone events hosted by UVic Law (e.g., philanthropic gift announcements, the opening for the National Centre for Indigenous Laws, etc.), draft communications and correspondence, support data management and the maintenance of digital records, and provide support for financial administration. This role will also serve as the Faculty liaison with UVic Alumni Relations.

He/she offers timely and exemplary customer service and creative solutions to internal and external stakeholders as well as executes duties with diplomacy, tact, and professionalism. The External Relations (Development) Coordinator is instrumental in the delivery of programs and services designed to facilitate a lifelong relationship with UVic donors, alumni and students.

The normal business hours at UVic Law are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. As part of the responsibilities involved in the work of the External team (e.g. special events, external meetings, etc.), this position is occasionally required to work outside of normal office hours.
- Job RequirementsThis position requires a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of two (2) years of experience related to the duties and responsibilities specified. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Knowledge requirements include:
- Proficient in providing first-point-of contact support and exemplary customer service
- High awareness of the adaptability, maturity and professionalism required to support unit leaders in a multi-faceted, fast-paced environment
- Great knowledge of the sensitivity involved in interacting with high-profile stakeholders and their representatives
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Proficient with data input, manipulation and extract from complex CRM system or databases (e.g. Raisers Edge)
- Strong cultural and inter-societal acumen and in particular Indigenous acumen.

- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Self-motivated with an ability to work effectively under pressure with mínimal supervision
- Proven track record managing and maintaining the confidentiality of highly personal and sensitive information
- Assets or Preferences:
- Experience with higher education and/or a complex organization
- Experience with software such as The Raisers Edge, FAST and Connect (SharePoint)
