Position Information

**Position Title**
- Associate Registrar - Student Services**Position Summary**
- Red Deer Polytechnic is seeking a permanent full-time Associate Registrar - Student Services to join the Enrolment Management team. You will be responsible for the leadership, management, and supervision of Recruitment, Polytechnic Events (e.g. convocation, new student orientation, and open house), Student Advising and Registration, Funding & Awards.
- The position assists the Dean of Enrolment Management and Registrar in other key areas of the operations and acts as the Dean of Enrolment Management and Registrar in their absence in all matters including making decisions, student appeals, interpreting and implementing policies and attending meetings. The Associate Registrar works closely with Schools in strategically managing recruitment and retention activities and participates in and provides advice to School and Institutional initiatives.**Position Responsibilities**
- Acts as the Polytechnic’s primary expert and resource on recruitment, polytechnic student events, student advising, funding and awards for the Office of the Registrar.
- Manages and supports projects that support innovation and efficiency for the Office of the Registrar.
- Resolves student complaints.
- Establishes appropriate service standards for and access to student services provided by the Office of the Registrar.
- Provides leadership to the day-to-day operations for the Recruitment, Student Advising and Registration, Funding and Awards, of the Office of the Registrar.
- Manages recruitment, hiring, retention, coaching, and performance evaluations of staff in Student Services.
- Coordinates the collection and maintenance of statistics for planning, providing reports to the Dean of Enrolment Management and Registrar, Schools, and the Associate Vice President Academic Entrepreneurship.
- Develops and analyzes budgets in conjunction with the Dean of Enrolment Management and Registrar.
- Produces annual marketing and recruitment plan and meets regularly with Marketing and Communications to ensure timely implementation.
- Collaborates on strategic enrolment management initiatives.
- Provides guidance to and engages with Marketing and Communications to investigate, implement and maintain appropriate practices and activities to achieve the institution’s recruitment and retention targets.
- Manages delivery of Polytechnic events including Convocation, New Student Orientation, Open House and related liaison activities.

**Required Qualifications**

**Professional Experience**
- 5-7 years progressive experience in postsecondary preferably within a Registrarial or Student Service environment including demonstrated experience in Student Information Systems (Banner), policy compliance, project management and business process analysis.
- 3-5 years progressively responsible leadership experience including direct supervision of staff (recruitment and selection, and performance coaching).
- Demonstrated knowledge of postsecondary governance and processes.
- Proven experience developing and successfully implementing annual operational plans (e.g. recruitment) with a diverse group of stakeholders.
- Demonstrated commitment to fostering the principles of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Indigenization in service delivery.

**Credentials**
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.

- Demonstrated analytical, research, critique and problem solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with other service, academic and administrative leaders.
- Demonstrated effectiveness in leadership and the management of change initiatives.
- Demonstrated effectiveness in subordinates’ performance management.

**Preferred Qualifications**
- Master’s degree in a relevant discipline
