Edmonton, Canada Prospect Human Services Full time

**Position**

ArtRecruits Program Coordinator

**Location**

Edmonton AB

**Type**

Full Time

**Break Barriers. Employ Change.**

Prospect helps people get jobs. We’re a not-for-profit and registered charity, so while the bottom line can’t be ignored, it’s not our priority. Clients are.

Recognizing that not everyone learns in the same way, our methods include art and the great Alberta outdoors as tools. We help young and old, people changing industries, recent immigrants, veterans, people with disabilities, and everyday Albertans who feel that the job search process has become daunting. If that sounds good to you, let’s get to work

**What will you do?**

Look around. How many jobs are there where you can use art to do good? (Cue the Jeopardy music.) Not many - unless you count Banksy, and we don’t think he’s hiring. That’s why Prospect’s innovative ArtRecruits program is such a rare opportunity. It is one of the few places where artists can use their passion and talent to benefit society. Sound idealistic? It’s for real. And we’re looking for an ArtRecruits Program Coordinator to work with our clients, helping them engage with the community and employment opportunities.
- Plan and develop virtual/in person art based workshops to develop essential skills for employment
- Support ArtRecruits operations with administrative support
- Engage public and other stakeholders
- Actively seek out new partners in the arts and business communities for the purposes of developing new programs/activities, as well as supporting, fostering and maintaining existing relationships
- Assist with workshops based on resume writing, interview skills, job targeting, time management, nutrition, etc.
- Work directly with Prospect clients, providing support to teach and expand employability skills
- Provide leadership support to clients while they plan and facilitate art collaborations and host public art exhibitions
- Coordinate supplies for all workshops throughout each session
- Participate in ongoing program and art specific risk management, including establishment and monitoring of policies and procedures in these areas
- Maintain open communication with all stakeholders including formal/personal support networks, employers, and external partners
- Support the creation, progression, tracking and completion of goals for clients
- Maintain accurate and timely reports
- Work collaboratively within a team of creative professionals
- Work with clients who are diagnosed with a variety of different mental health barriers and supporting them with connecting to outside resources.
- Develop marketing for public art exhibitions

**What does it take to do this job?**
- Degree or certificate in related field from a recognized post-secondary institution, such as, but not limited to Art, Social or Human Services
- 2+ years’ of experience in a similar role, with demonstrated reliability shown in past positions/education
- Some post-secondary education and/or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience will be considered
- Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Photoshop)
- Strong oral communication skills to be able to relay instructions
- Exposure and/or direct experience with health and safety and risk management practices as it relates to activities
- Previous experience working in the field of mental health

**Further Notes**:

- All employees must pass a background check
- All employees must be flexible to work from the office as well as from home based on program requirements
- Prospect has a comprehensive onboarding program and supports professional development goals

**Enthusiastic**

Prospect approaches every opportunity with enthusiasm. We drive change with energy, optimism and commitment. Anyone who walks through our doors can feel the positive energy.

**Professional**

In every facet of our work, our actions show a commitment to professional management and service delivery. Prospect is accountable, ethical and honest.

**Innovative**

Prospect creates change by envisioning the end game and creating the means to realize it. We believe asking “why not?” aids progress. Solutions are created when we think beyond traditional boundaries.

**Inclusive**

Prospect is driven to achieve equal access for all to opportunities and resources. We strive to create a fair, healthy and high-performing environment where everyone is respected, encouraged and motivated, and their contributions help Prospect attain its goals.

**Collaborative**

Prospect seeks different perspectives. All parties must be engaged, including for-profit, not-for-profit, funders and government. Only by understanding all points of view can we create inclusive workplaces.
