MacEwan University is seeking a Sustainability Program Coordinator for a full-time continuing opportunity with the Infrastructure, Planning and Management department.

Reporting to the Manager, Sustainability, the Sustainability Program Coordinator provides support and coordination of sustainability activities for the University. The Sustainability Program Coordinator assists with developing, coordinating, implementing, and promoting sustainable practices and initiatives across campus to reduce environmental impact and promote a culture of sustainability among students, faculty, and staff. This role requires an individual who is passionate about sustainability, possesses excellent communication skills, and can inspire and lead change.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Designing, implementing, and maintaining a data collection system/process to solicit community feedback, track key sustainability performance indicators, and inform future sustainability efforts, ensuring data is collected in a consistent and standardized manner.
- Developing and maintaining a comprehensive database to track institution-wide sustainability efforts for easy access and reporting; this includes, but is not limited to, details on date, initiatives undertaken, timelines, parties involved, area of the university, magnitude of impact, etc.
- Under the direction of the Manager, Sustainability, developing, coordinating and implementing programs, presentations, demonstrations, workshops or other activities for students and staff that advance sustainability practices and align with the institution’s sustainability goals and values; these initiatives may include, but are not limited to, energy efficiency projects, waste reduction, composting and recycling programs, water conservation efforts, and green building practices.
- Seeking opportunities to collaborate with various departments, including facilities, procurement, and academic units to encourage considerations for integrating sustainability principles and practices into their daily operations and longer-term planning.
- Creating and distributing educational materials, such as brochures, pamphlets, brochures, and online resources, that inform the campus community about sustainable practices and initiatives.
- Using various communication channels, including newsletters, social media, the MacEwan Sustainability website, and public presentations to keep the campus community informed about sustainability efforts and achievements, and adheres to the visual and branding guidelines of the institution and liaises with the Office of Communications and Marketing and Web Services to ensure alignment.
