RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC
The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. Position summary

General Duties
- Manages the day-to-day activities of the pre-awards team.
- Responsible for identifying and promoting suitable research funding opportunities to the RI-MUHC research community utilizing Pivot and other similar systems.
- Works closely with research program managers to ensure the efficient dissemination of information to the research community regarding funding opportunities, submission deadlines, as well as Pre-Awards requirements and procedures.
- Completes the final review of the proposal and submits on behalf of the Institution to external sponsors.

**SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Responsible for electronic grants management including review, submission and

authorized signatory of proposals in the absence of Director,
- Provides pre-award assistance to investigators and staff in the development and

submission of proposals to private and public sponsors and funding agencies,
- Assists in the proposal preparation and submission process utilizing electronic submission

systems, such as, but not limited to NIH eRA Commons, Proposal Central, Grants.gov,
FRQnet, ResearchNet,
- Provides important feedback and advice to faculty and staff on various aspects of

proposal development and submission,
- Assists investigators and maintains close working relationship with Director, Pre and Post
- award staff,
- Manages the dissemination of program announcements, solicitations, and other funding

opportunity information, as assigned,
- Assists in compiling and analyzing a variety of data, as required,
- Responsible for the leadership, coaching, and supervision of a diverse team of grant

professionals dedicated to the goals and expectations of the department and the
organization,
- Collaborates closely with Director and key leaders such as CODO, ED and CSO throughout

the organization(s) to identify new opportunities as well as create and advance
opportunities for grant-funded impact,
- Organize and host meetings to enhance funding and visibility of the research community

including new initiatives to bring various stakeholders together,
- Train new employee(s) with respect to the general and specific duties of the pre-awards

team,
- Other duties as assigned by the Director.

Additional information

**Status**: Temporary Full-Time (35-hour workweek)

**Pay Scale**: Commensurate with education & work experience.

**Work Shift**: 8:30am - 16:30pm

**Work Site**: 2155 Guy
