**Job Overview**:
We are growing and looking to expand our offering in Kingston. We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to join our kitchen team in producing exceptional dishes and creating a positive dining experience for our guests and a great place to work for the team. The Head Chef will be responsible for overseeing food preparation and presentation, managing kitchen staff, ordering supplies, and maintaining high standards of food quality and hygiene.

**Responsibilities**:

- Develop and maintain our innovative and creative menu offerings aligned with the profile of Heist Restaurant + Wine Club. Develop and maintain standard recipes and plate presentation.
- Plan menus, create daily specials, and ensure menu items are in line with seasonal ingredients. Special event menus to be created as required.
- Maintain high standards of food quality and presentation.
- Train, manage and mentor kitchen staff, including line cooks and dishwashers, creating a positive and team-oriented work environment.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, including food preparation, cooking, and plating.
- Manage food costs through responsible sourcing and appropriate procurement.
- Manage labour costs and make adjustments as necessary to maintain appropriate staffing levels including training and scheduling needs.
- Ensure the kitchen is kept clean, organized, and ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers to ensure the highest quality products are being used.
- Work in close partnership with the front of house team to provide an exceptional service experience to our guests.

**Requirements**:

- Culinary Education Trade Papers, Red Seal or equivalent required. A diploma or degree in culinary arts is preferred.
- Food Safe Certification.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a Head Chef position in a high volume and upscale environment.
- Minimum of 8 years' combined experience in the trade of cooking.
- Food and beverage culinary management experience with demonstrated leadership.
- Extensive knowledge of food handling and sanitation standards.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to motivate and manage a team of kitchen staff.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $70,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
