Family & Children’s Services of the Waterloo Region Foundation currently has an opportunity for a temporary full-time Community Engagement Manager.

This is a tremendous opportunity for a dynamic fundraiser who is passionate about children, youth and families and promoting equity and social justices. This role is for you if you are a self-starter and motivated to make this role your own. The FACS Foundation team is small, and you will have exposure to all facets of the Foundation, allowing for autonomy, initiative, and leadership development. As a new member of the FACS team, you will bring boundless energy and your fundraising savvy to an organization that is looking to reinvent what’s possible in philanthropy.

The **Community Engagement Manager **will play a lead role in the Foundation’s annual giving program and will be responsible for a communication plan to increase public awareness, education, and community engagement in the prevention of child abuse and neglect. This position will play a leading role in overseeing the Foundation’s third party and community events and activities that promote the engagement and well-being of all members of the community including the agency staff team.

**Major Position Responsibilities**:

- Responsible for the Foundation’s annual giving program including donor stewardship for donors under $1000.
- Develops communication key messages and overall communication strategies for the Foundation and implements the communication plan in collaboration with the Foundation Team.
- Works in collaboration with the Agency Communication Manager, to ensure that the Agency and Foundation promotional materials (social media, internet, mailings, brochures, print ads, etc.) are integrated and aligned with our strategic priorities and values.
- Plans, coordinates, and evaluates the Foundation’s signature fundraising events and third-party fundraising opportunities to increase the community’s engagement and support.
- Develops and implements a plan to build the Foundation’s third-party giving program as well as the staff giving fund.
- Actively engages with the agency team (staff, caregivers, volunteers) to build strong and integrated working relationships that support the Agency/Foundation’s core values and strategic priorities.
- Engages with staff and community partners to determine the needs of children, youth and families we serve that aren’t funded through other sources and develops an integrated and collaborative plan to message and secure the necessary support.
- In conjunction with the Foundation Team, plans, coordinates, and evaluates a range of staff engagement, public education/awareness communication strategies on behalf of the Agency and Foundation regarding our contributions to the prevention of child abuse and promotion of child and youth well-being and the need for the community’s engagement and support.
- Administrative duties, tracking event registration, invoicing, sponsorships, and donor engagement.
- Promotes the principles of diversity and inclusion, and anti-oppressive practice.

**Qualifications**:

- Relevant education (professional designation an asset)
- Minimum of two years progressively responsible experience in public relations, media relations and fundraising development preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communications skills with the ability to engage donors.
- Excellent organization, initiative, planning and administrative skills with the ability to identify and manage multiple priorities.
- Experience managing social media channels and messaging for a charity.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite required.
- Data base management and electronic communication platforms (data entry, data maintenance, query, and database administration skills)
- Sound judgment and problem-solving skills are essential.
- Ability to work in a team environment, as well as independently.
- Willingness and ability to occasionally travel locally and regionally.
- Access to reliable personal transportation and be approved by insurance carrier to drive personal vehicle.
- Knowledge of and/or experience in the Waterloo Region preferred.
- Ability to work flexible hours as required.

**Salary Range**:
$ 63,393.55 -$79,476.29 per annum
