Hope and Area Transition Society is a nonprofit in Hope BC, serving the Eastern Fraser Valley. The Society has been providing social programs since 1994. The largest nonprofit in the Eastern Region, the agency specializes in providing Domestic Violence, Substance Use, Youth and Family and Homelessness services.

**The Job**:
**The Human Resources manager **is responsible for developing and implementing effective, consistent, and legal human resources practices grounded in a commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion. The position oversees all people and culture functions including employee and labor relations, recruitment and selection, training and development, performance management, occupational health, and safety. In consultation with the Finance Manager compensation and benefits, and regulation compliance will be conducted. The Human Resources Manager works collaboratively across the organization to support employee engagement and optimize service delivery and sustainability.

**This position is on-site only, only those who are currently living BC will be considered**
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in human resources, business administration, organizational leadership, or a related field
- CPHR designation or equivalent is required
- 3 to 5 years of experience providing senior-level human resources management
- Nonprofit experience is preferred
- Experience leading/working in a unionized environment is required
- Experience in labor relations issues, including recruitment, performance management, and workplace rights
- Experience managing culture change projects and guiding employees through strategic and operational change initiatives
- Working knowledge of HR industry trends, relevant legislation (Human Rights Code, Labour Relations Code, Employment Standards Act, WorkSafeBC, etc.), and compliance requirements
- Strong proficiency in using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- High emotional intelligence with the ability to use tact and diplomacy in dealing with sensitive, complex, and confidential situations
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills with an attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills with the ability to professionally connect with and influence a diverse group of individuals
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead projects and work with diverse individuals to identify issues, design solutions, and evaluate results
- Willingness to work flexible hours is required
- Valid BC driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle is required
- Satisfactory completion of a criminal records check with vulnerable populations is required

- Able to adapt and flex (both mentally and physically) to quickly changing circumstances

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: From $40.06 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
