Revelstoke, Canada Parks Canada - Mount Revelstoke & Glacier National Parks Full time

**Duties**
As the Asset Manager, you will lead and manage a diverse team of technical specialists, project managers and general work crews in delivering on key Parks Canada priorities. You will be responsible for leading a complex capital program across various funds, and lead various projects in the areas managed by the field unit.

This position plays an integral role at the Mount Revelstoke & Glacier Field Unit Management team and will be expected to advise on various park assets.

This position will be required to supervise not only a program of work and asset program priorities but will be required to have strong abilities to plan, engage and manage team performance.

**Education**
Graduation from a recognized post secondary institution with a degree or diploma in an engineering or project management discipline or another specialisation relevant to the duties of the position; or an acceptable combination of education, training, and experience.

Class 5 driver’s license (or provincial equivalent)

**EXPERIENCE**
EX1: Experience in collaborating with and mobilizing people & stakeholders in an asset & infrastructure environment with frequently competing interests;
EX2: Experience overseeing financial and human resources including leading multi-disciplinary teams of engineers, technical specialists, consultants and/or contractors;
EX3: Experience in planning and implementing asset management programs for a medium-sized organization involving a diverse asset portfolio including contemporary and heritage structures (e.g. buildings, roads & bridges, water/wastewater treatment facilities, visitor infrastructure, etc).

**ASSET EXPERIENCE**
AEX1: Experience in planning and successfully delivering multi-disciplinary capital projects, including reading and providing advice on engineering designs.

**KNOWLEDGE**
K1: Knowledge of principles and theories associated with asset management, maintenance and investment analysis in support of long-term capital planning;
K2: Knowledge of project management principles, methodologies and best practices;
K3: Knowledge of current construction project, risk management and quality assurance principles, standards, practices and techniques.

**ABILITIES**
A1: Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; to technical and non-technical audience;
A2: Ability to manage and develop teams of professional and technical staff through performance management plans and learning objectives;
A3: Ability to think strategically, assess complex information and situations, develop strategic recommendations/solutions and negotiate and implement future courses of action;
A4: Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional environment; that is, able to work with other sections or functions to achieve common park goals.

**Conditions of employment**
- Reliability Status security clearance
- Possess and maintain valid class 5 driver’s license (or provincial equivalent)

- Required to wear a Parks Canada uniform and/or prescribed protective equipment
- Willingness to work and/or travel in varied terrain, weather conditions, isolated locations and by various means of transportation
- Willingness to work irregular hours, overtime, weekends and/or statutory holidays and provincial/territorial holidays, when required

**Salary**: $85,742.00-$92,694.00 per year
