We are currently in need of a VP, Broker Distribution for the GTA region. This role is responsible for developing and implementing business development plans for a region or division of a business unit to achieve, sustainable, profitable growth in a multi-line/multi-brand environment. This role provides leadership, within the context of the approved business development strategy, relating to business delivery and operational efficiency, broker relationship management, organizational change, and risk management and control.

What you’ll do:
- Develop and implement outstanding plans to deliver profitable growth results consistent with objectives and commitments- Lead the business development function to ensure company objectives are reached and control workflow, efficiency, quality of business, and quality of underwriting- Allocate/distribute specific sales and profitability targets and ensure that performance is tracked, reported and delivered- Provide broker service excellence. Develop and reach successful solutions to sophisticated broker/customer problems.- Deliver on the broker segmentation strategy.- Assess risks based upon experience, broad knowledge of industry, and expected outcomes- Differentiate Aviva products and approaches from competitors using technical information and sophisticated industry knowledge- Lead, mentor and train business development staff to build high performance.- Collaboration with Personal and Commercial Underwriting, Marketing and Claims team- Embed regulatory principles within all business development functions; that employees are aware of the importance of compliance; and that related issues are raised to senior management.- Ensure that appropriate marketing information is developed & communicated within established guidelines and spend- Act as the corporate representative to regulators, and represent the enterprise to customers, suppliers and external bodies in the development.- Put in appropriate audit controls that serve as the source material for regulatory reports.- Develop and retain controls to effectively handle corporate risk associated with your role.

What you’ll bring:
- A bachelor's degree in business administration or commerce or related field, or equivalent work experience.- Fellow Chartered Insurance Professional (FCIP) also desirable.- Analytical skills: strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.- Solid knowledge of insurance markets, distribution knowledge, and emerging trends and practices in the insurance industry- Very strong negotiating skills and outstanding client presentation skills- Consistent Track Record of building and executing a plan that drives profitable business growth- 10+ years post-designation business experience in the P&C Insurance Industry.
