The Inside Contractor Sales person is to provide friendly, responsive service to create a first class experience for our contractors/ customers from start to finish. The Inside Contractor Sales position performs all duties in cooperation with the Outside Sales Representative to ensure that the goals and objectives of the contractor project(s) are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and available funding.

Job Duties
- Meets Company standards for customer service by identifying current and future needs of customers through friendly rapport and relationship building
- Maintains high standard of professionalism while communicating with customers and/or contractors regarding projects both in person and by phone
- Supports the Outside Sales Representatives by assisting or facilitating take-offs, quotations, special orders, processing orders, monitoring incoming and outgoing deliveries, etc.
- Actively call on sales leads and opportunities and provide knowledgeable advice and service
- Facilitates timely and accurate delivery of sales and estimates to contractors/ customers
- Reviews status reports prepared by Outside Sales Representatives or the Contractor and modifies schedules/plans as required.
- Deals directly with vendors and processes special order requests with a high degree of accuracy and coordinates with branches for specialized quotes
- Process estimates, vendor service requests and vendor returns
- Relay customer calls and inquiries.
- Assist with special order needs
- Take incoming calls to the Outside Sales Representatives and return phone messages promptly and with the utmost courtesy as required
- Research customer inquiries utilizing supplier catalogs and / or discussions with the Purchasing Department.
- Maintain a schedule planner on all customer jobs in progress.
- Maintain technical proficiency and product knowledge.
- Consults with Outside Sales Representatives to outline work and to assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority.
- Consults with the Contractor to provide technical advice on new or alternative building materials and supplies and to resolve problems.
- Follow established control procedures regarding C.O.D. orders and cash customers
- Coordinates deliveries with the operations department.
- Effectively work in a high pressure and deadline-driven environment
- Occasional site visits may be required
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
- Participate regularly in professional development and/or training provided through the company or mandated by the company
- Hold yourself accountable to the Values of Moffatt and Powell demonstrating attitudes and behavior that are a fit with the company and addressing those that are not in a timely and professional manner
- Respect individuals and the needs of the company

Follows all company policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook, Health and Safety Handbook, Policy Manual and all other organization communication
- Upholds Section 27 of the Occupational Health & Safety Act, including but not limited to, ensuring safe work practices are adhered to by all team members and that safety training and personal protective equipment are available to all team members.
- Keep the work area clean and tidy
- Comply with Moffatt and Powell policies and procedures

**Requirements**:

- High school diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent
- Ability to read and interpret building specifications and blueprints
- Good working knowledge of material take-offs
- Strong knowledge of cost-estimating
- Effective verbal and listening communications skills
- Time management skills
- Strong product knowledge of building materials to better assist customers
- Proactive in ensuring product knowledge is current
- Ability to work in a team environment with a minimum of supervision
- Collaborative in dealing with customers and fellow employees
- Receptive to change - can adapt to changing circumstances

Work Conditions
- Travel may be required.
- Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time
- Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
