Located in downtown Winnipeg, Manitoba, and on original Treaty One land, in the heart of the Red River Métis homeland, The University is home to approximately 10,000 undergraduate and graduate students, 340 full-time faculty, 323 instructional staff, and 489 support staff. It has an established reputation for providing a supportive learning and working environment, combining a commitment to academic and research excellence, dedication to Indigenous engagement and success, and connections with diverse communities.

The Bachelor of Arts in Human Rights offers 3 and 4-year degrees in The University of Winnipeg’s Global College. The program places a strong emphasis on interdisciplinary collaboration, as well as creating opportunities for students to gain experience outside the classroom through field courses, practicum placements, community engagement initiatives and research with faculty members. In addition to the B.A. in Human Rights, Global College is home to the Indigenous Languages thematic major, Master's in Development Practice: Indigenous Development and the Joint Master's in Peace and Conflict Studies.
