- High School Diploma, plus a two year College Diploma in a related field.
- Two years of related experience (i.e. business licensing, bylaw compliance, enforcement).
- Typing speed of 50 wpm.
- Excellent communication skills, including written, in person, public speaking, and telephone.
- Community Peace Officer and Commissioner for Oaths designation, or ability to obtain same.
- Current Alberta Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to learn and use software.
- General understanding of accounting principles.
- Ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently in a high paced environment.
- Ability to prioritize large volumes of varied work and timelines, with constant interruptions.
Excellent customer service skills, including experience assisting difficult customers and the ability to diffuse and resolve issues.
- Previous experience interpreting bylaws and legislation, and communicating that interpretation to customers and public.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- High degree of personal accountability.
- Ability to maintain and understand confidentiality for Department and City of Red Deer Business.
- Must be comfortable attending businesses and homes for inspections, alone.
- Must be comfortable delivering orders, municipal tags and summonses to offenders who may be unhappy or agitated.

$37.78 to $39.76 per hour.

**Hours of Work**:
75 hours biweekly, Monday to Friday. Some evening and weekend work may be required.
