**Salary**: $53,654.00/year - $67,068.00/year

What qualifications are we looking for?

Post-secondary diploma/degree in Recreation, Physical Literacy, Kinesiology, or equivalent

Minimum of 3 years working in a supervisory capacity within an organization providing services for children and youth

Customer service experience and/or experience working in a health-focused industry or recreational facility

Experience managing an effective staff team to collaboratively achieve desired outcomes

Exemplary skills in the planning and delivery of developmentally appropriate sport programs

Excellent oral and written communication skills, including intermediate use of technology

Budget development and management

Current Standard First Aid and CPR C

Evidence of a cleared Police Information Check and Vulnerable Sector Search. Asset if certification is issued by one of the following five Canadian organizations: Canadian Red Cross, Heart and Stroke Foundation, Lifesaving Society, St John's Ambulance and/or Canadian Ski Patrol.

What does this role look like at YMCA Calgary?

The Experience Manager will achieve the goals and objectives of the position by demonstrating the core competencies of the organization. The core priorities are fund development, health and safety, community engagement, and staff development and capacity building.

The Experience Manager is part of the branch management team, responsible for operational excellence within the branch and program areas. Program areas that report directly to the Experience Manger include:

- Health & Fitness
- Child & Family
- Daycamps & Climbing
- Sport

Duties and Responsibilities include:
Operational Excelence
- Accountable for meeting the targets set within the Experience Manager scorecard;
- Ensure excellent service by responding to the immediate needs of all users;
- Ensure programming is delivered consistent to the course outline, quality standards and desired outcomes of YMCA Calgary, as defined by Program Experience and Project Delivery Teams;
- Commit to exceptional quality in the delivery of customer services within your department and branch;
- Develop and manage the Sport, Health & Fitness, Child & Family and Daycamp & Climbing departmental budgets;
- Use data as a key tool in program evaluation and decision making;
- Contribute to and participate in a variety of Association Project Delivery Teams, providing leadership as required;
Staff Development and Capacity Building
- Recruit and train the program delivery staff team;
- Commit to ensuring your staff team is afforded relevant professional development opportunities;
- As a manger within a YMCA facility, be responsible for coaching and supporting all direct and indirect reports within the branch;
Health and Safety
- Ensure compliance to all health and safety systems, policies, and procedures within your branch;
- Ensure compliance of all certifications for staff and volunteers within your department areas;
Community Engagement
- Support the general manager in ensuring the YMCA has a positive presence in the local community;
Fund Development
- Provide direct leadership and oversight to the Staff and Volunteer aspect of the Annual Campaign.
- There will be occasional travel to other locations in the city for YMCA meetings, trainings, and community engagement work. Working hours will include occasional weekends and evenings.
