**About Us**:
The Berczy Tavern is a new concept opening in downtown Toronto this summer.
We are currently seeking a talented and passionate Chef de Partie to join our culinary team at The Berczy Tavern. As a Chef de Partie, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our kitchen while upholding our standards of excellence in food preparation and presentation.
**Responsibilities**:
- Work closely with the Head Chef and Sous Chefs to execute the restaurant's menu and maintain consistency in flavor, presentation, and quality.
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, including antipasti, pasta, risotto, main courses, and desserts, according to established recipes and standards.
- Oversee a specific section of the kitchen, such as the pasta station, grill, or pastry section, ensuring that all dishes are prepared and plated to the highest standards.
- Supervise and train junior kitchen staff, providing guidance on proper cooking techniques, food safety procedures, and kitchen hygiene practices.
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, and communicate any shortages or discrepancies to the Head Chef or Sous Chefs.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to sanitation and safety standards at all times.
- Collaborate with other members of the culinary team to develop new menu items, specials, and seasonal dishes.
**Requirements**:
- Proven experience as a Chef de Partie or line cook in a high-volume restaurant, preferably with a focus on Italian cuisine.
- Extensive knowledge of Italian cooking techniques, ingredients, and flavors.
- Strong culinary skills and the ability to execute recipes with precision and attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Leadership qualities and the ability to work well as part of a team.
- A positive attitude and passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests.
- Culinary degree or relevant certification is a plus.
