Student Commercial Coordinator

What You’ll Be Working On

Our internships and Co-ops are designed to provide you with a business relevant project that will allow you to independently manage your own area of responsibility, while receiving support from an assigned Supervisor and Technical Mentor. We’ll help you discover your strengths and development areas in a challenging, fun, and supportive work environment.

We are seeking a student to join us for a 4-month co-op position starting in January 2025. This position will be based out of Vancouver, BC.

General Responsibilities:
- Performs site physical progress measurement, including verification and validation of quantities.-
- Assist in the review and agreement of monthly progress billings with the client.-
- Assist with the preparation of monthly reports: value, cost, profit/loss, cash flow and budget.Reconcile individual tender packages, cash allowances and time and materials scopes of work.-
- Assist with risk and value management to optimize solution. Monitor and regularly review with the project team.-
- Identify, analyze and develop responses to commercial risks.Assist with management, evaluation, and certification of variations/change orders.-
- Ensure all notifications/documents are managed in accordance with the contract, and customer / company policy.-
- Liaise with site team, subcontractors, and customers’ representatives.-
- Understand the implications of health and safety regulations.-
- Prepare costs code information for the project teams use.Claims Management and Litigation Assistance:
- Support the management of construction claims, including preparation, submission, and negotiation of claims related to delays, disruptions, and variations.-
- Assist legal teams by providing necessary documentation and analysis for potential or ongoing litigation.Commercial Risk Analysis:
- Identify, analyze, and develop responses to commercial risks, ensuring the project team is aware of potential challenges and can take proactive measures.Contract Management Support:Reporting and Documentation:
- Prepare and maintain detailed commercial reports, including cost/value reconciliations, monthly financial updates, and progress reports. Ensure all commercial documentation is accurate, up to date, and in line with company policies.Who We Need On Our Team- You are currently enrolled in a relevant degree program such as Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or equivalent program-
- You will complete at least one more semester of education following your internship and possess a GPA of 3.0 or higher-
- Ability to lead and operate within an environment where change happens frequently-
