**Job Information**:
The Director establishes the policies and processes needed to support quality mental wellness and addiction recoverycare, and the effective integration of the mental wellness and addictions system with the broader health and social services system. The Director must also work with the Authorities to ensure that clients/patients have choices in how they receive support and care, based on their individualized needs, interests, and skills. The Director is responsible for the development and management of strategic frameworks and action plans in collaboration with HSSA's and other key stakeholders to guide the implementation of mental health and addictions services, establishes a monitoring and evaluation framework for the mental health and addictions system, is responsible for ensuring an effective auditing process is implemented for all HSSAs and for leading course corrections as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

- Expert knowledge of the relevant law, legislation, standards, procedures, and policies specific to Mental Health and Addictions;
- Legal requirements in Mental Health Act;
- Wide range of negotiation skills, from managing conflicts with individuals, groups, including indigenous organizations, inter-jurisdictional committees, etc.
- Leadership skills including change management, engagement of others; engagement of others
- Ability to implement complex systems and processes for QI, QA, risk management;
Typically attained by:
Master's Degree in Counselling or related discipline with 8 years of progressive experience in Mental Wellness and Addictions Service Delivery, including a minimum of 3 years in a Management or Senior Management Level Mental Wellness and Addictions position.
