Under the general guidance and supervision of the Director of Finance, the Jr. Finance Manager will perform a variety of accounting functions & transactions of technical consistency and methods used to meet the Pan Pacific’s hotel standards and policies. In addition, this position will become familiar with other support areas such as income audit, cashier, payroll, accounts receivable, and accounts payable in order to effectively lead the Finance support team.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
The key responsibilities of the Jr. Finance Manager include but are not limited to:

- Provide overall supervision of the accounting records and financial reports of Pan Pacific Vancouver ensuring compliance with company, owner, statutory and fiscal requirements, and timetables.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve outstanding items.
- Review audited daily revenue and settlements, and daily revenue, labour reports.
- ** Prepare month end journal entries.**:

- ** Review draft financials and prepare accruals accordingly.**:

- ** Prepare month end statistics reports.**:

- ** Reconcile General Ledger accounts.**:

- ** Prepare financial reports and supporting schedules.**:

- ** Prepare and distribute financial statement booklet.**:

- Plan and execute month-end and year-end closing, review general ledger, and produce monthly financial statements.
- Review and approve Accounts Payable entries.
- ** Backup for Accounts Payable coverage.**:

- ** Provide support and training for Oracle Fusion cloud accounting.**:

- ** Provide assistance and support for Income Audit, Accounts Payable, and Gift Certificate sales.**:

- ** Prepare capital expenditure requests and reports including monitoring progress and maintaining all supporting documents.**:

- Supervises/prepares the Excel Reports for the new month.
- Prepare and update cash flow forecast.
- Initiate payments for various taxes, payroll withholdings, and concessions.
- Compile annual operating budget for Oracle import; Prepare below GOP annual budget.
- For the annual external audit, prepare PBC working papers and supporting documents; Make SAD adjusting entries.
- Ensure that the balance sheet is reviewed regularly, and reconciliations performed monthly for all accountants and liaise and co-operate with both Internal and External Auditors.
- Provide payroll supervision and coverage as necessary.
- Perform other job-related duties and special projects as assigned.

**Qualifications and Technical Experience**:

- Minimum three (3) years’ experience in a progressive supervisory position in a finance department in a large scale hotel environment is required.
- Canadian experience is required, in terms of taxation, statutory, and accounting standards compliance.
- Excellent oral & written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Honesty, integrity, and strong interpersonal skills in a people-centric team environment.
- Previous experience in a Hotel guest service position and /or front desk experience an asset.
- Strong computer skills (Windows, Excel, databases).
- Working experience using Hotel Property Management System - Opera is an asset.
- Experience with Payroll software systems such as ADP or Ceridian an asset.
- Likes to optimize and/or automate processes
- Ability to effectively deal with the concerns of guests and associates in a friendly and positive manner, providing positive and proactive solutions.
