VAFCS manages multiple programs and services through three locations in Vancouver. It is a community-led organization creating meaningful change for the Urban Aboriginal population we serve. **Job Summary**:
The Accounting Coordinator, Revenue, ensures that the regular processing of financial documents and payroll are completed efficiently, effectively, and correctly. The Coordinator will perform Sales Invoicing, Accounts Receivable, company credit card and gas card. The Coordinator will assist with the audit process, budgets, reporting, reconciliations, and compliance. The Coordinator reports to the Senior Accountant.

**Responsibilities**:
Accounts Management
- Follow the documented system of accounting policies & procedures.
- Support to overall operations of the accounting department, including control systems, transaction-processing operations, policies, and procedures.

Accounting
- Maintain digital copies and hardcopies
- Maintain Databases & Spreadsheets
- Process Petty Cash
- Process Sales Invoices
- Process Accounts Receivables
- Enter entries into the Accounting System
- Perform Bank Reconciliations
- Reconcile Credit Card
- Reconcile Gasoline Card
- Reconcile Deferred Revenue accounts
- Bank Deposits

Reporting & Compliance:

- Reporting on CSSEA
- Reporting to BCGEU
- Reporting to WorkSafeBC
- Reporting on Programs
- Assist in preparing reports to senior management, board of directors, and external parties
- Assist with working papers
- Maintain orderly filing systems of Clients for Receivables

**Qualifications**:

- Accounting student and going through the CPA program considered an asset
- Minimum 2-3 years accounting experience in a non-profit organization.
- Strong communication, interpersonal and problem resolution skills.
- Highly adaptable with the ability to conform to rapidly shifting priorities and schedules.
- Effective time-management, organizational and follow-up skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and deal with multiple concurrent tasks.
- Demonstrated integrity, flexibility, and practicality,
- Proactive and innovative with an “improvement seeking” orientation
- Attention to detail
- Experience with the MS suite of products like Excel, Word, SharePoint, etc.
- Experience with Sage 50, or other Accounting System
- Experience processing payroll for a unionized workforce
- Possession of a valid class 5 driver's license and a clean Driver's Abstract is an asset.

Expected start date: April 22, 2024

Expected end date: May 24, 2024

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract

**Salary**: $30.00 per hour
