We are currently seeking a Human Resources Manager for any of our offices located in Sault Ste. Marie, Dryden, Peterborough, Ottawa or Hamilton.

Duties and responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following:

- Supports OAHS’s missions and vision and make significant contributions to the achievement of the corporate strategic plan;
- Manage the planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating the operations of the HR and Payroll functions;
- Encourage cultural awareness and sensitivity within OAHS to ensure cultural teachings and practices are embedded in all organizational processes, policies and procedures;
- Assist in providing cultural training opportunities to ensure OAHS staff have access to learn, understand and practice cultural competencies;
- Manage the implementation and monitoring of HR/employment-related programs and practices, including; recruitment, benefits, salary administration, job evaluation, occupational health and safety, employee relations, discipline, termination of employment, and training;
- Assist in the development and implementation of culturally-appropriate policies and procedures;
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive HR and payroll records;
- Liaise with Finance to ensure proper tracking and exchange of data with respect to benefits and payroll while keeping information confidential;
- Manage the recruitment and selection process, including job postings, receiving and screening resumes, conducting interviews, processing background checks, and conducting reference checks;
- Prepare employee communications regarding employment and program related matters;
- Manage the process to provide current and prospective employees with information about policies, job duties, working conditions, wages, and opportunities for promotion and employee benefits;
- Lead and monitor the annual performance evaluation process;
- Manage and support the attendance tracking and absence management process, including monitoring, reporting, coordinating coverage, and information sharing, as required;
- Manage all aspects of the payroll process, including resolving issues and communicating with the payroll provider and ensuring the process is in accordance with OAHS requirements;
- Ensure provision of accurate, timely processing of payroll including associated post-payroll procedures;
- Ensure processing of a variety of payroll/benefit related payment requirements through internal Business Management System;
- Manage records maintenance process and preparation of statistical reports concerning personnel-related data such as new hires, transfers, performance appraisals, absenteeism rates and terminations;
- Participate in the benefits and Group RSP administration process;
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal and provincial legislation and regulations, as well as company policies;
- Ensure confidentiality is maintained with respect to all HR and payroll related data;
- Prepare general forms, letters, reports, presentations and memos, as required;
- Other duties, as assigned.
- Knowledge and appreciation for Indigenous cultures and demonstrated values that focus on assisting people;
- Completed post-secondary education in Human Resources or Business Administration, combined with Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP or CHRL) designation;
- Minimum 5 years of relevant HR exp
