Reporting to the Director of Finance & Operations, **the Human Resources & Office Administration Manager** is accountable for ensuring that the Organization provides best practices for human resource services to all employees and is responsible for the recruitment, orientation, benefits administration, compensation, rewards, conflict resolution, and for developing and refining systems. **Required skills and qualifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field
- Five or more years of experience in full cycle recruitment, learning and development and employee relations
- Strong knowledge of employment legislation (ESA, OHRC, OHSA, AODA, PIPEDA etc.)
- Strong interest and aptitude for organizational development
- Joint Health & Safety Committee member certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Effective HR administration and organizational skills
- Advanced understanding of HR best practices
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal with people with diplomacy and tact
- Ability to deal with sensitive information with strict confidentiality
- Comprehensive understanding and demonstrated success managing projects
- A proactive approach to relationship building with all levels of employees
- Able to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Good presentation and facilitation skills
**Preferred qualifications**
- Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP)
- Experience with HR software
- Bilingual (French & English)
**Responsibilities **include,
- Manage recruitment, hiring, probationary documentation, performance reviews, orientation and H&S training, etc. component for the Association
- Act as a resource to Association staff regarding human resource guiding principles, policies and procedures
- Provide advice, guidance and direction to Management with respect to discipline, counselling and dispute resolution
- In cooperation managers/directors, maintain currency of position descriptions and employment agreements
- Maintain employee files
- Update and maintain the emergency preparedness plan
- Develop, introduce and review guidelines, policies, practices, and programs in compliance with employment legislation, corporate HR strategies, and best practices
- Monitor and respond to any/all health & safety concerns in relation to personnel matters
- Assist in the development of the HR budget
- Develop and implement strategies to support wellness among staff including EAP, safety initiatives and other activities
- Develop and implement employee engagement strategies and staff engagement surveys
- Administer compensation programs and assists with compensation activities, including base pay review, competency reviews, compensation adjustments and adjustments to job functions
**Office management**
- In collaboration with the Director of Finance & Operations, manage the day-to-day functions of the office; including responsibility for facilities and premises, security, access, office assignments, equipment procurement, supplies, disposal of assets, parking, maintenance services, etc.
- Review, evaluate and implement new administrative procedures
- Carry out administrative tasks related to the facilities
- Oversee social committee activities and budget
**Salary**: $75,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
