Reporting to the Human Resources & Payroll Supervisor, the Payroll and Benefits Coordinator will assist in payroll processing, and administration of the Benefits and Pension Plans.

**POSITION TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**PAYROLL**:
- Prepare and process full cycle hourly and salary bi-weekly payrolls and related HRIS / timecard administration relating to new hires, benefit or employee related changes, and terminations
- Create, modify, analyze, and distribute standard and ad-hoc payroll / benefit reports.
- Assist with year-end processing including any necessary adjustments and T4 preparation.
- Assist with answering payroll questions and providing excellent customer service and guidance to employees on payroll and benefit related issues.
- Liaises with payroll to resolve anomalies in a timely manner and provides advice on compensation, benefits, leaves, appointments, and severance.
- Maintain payroll and benefit systems and personnel files to ensure the accuracy and integrity of all files and payroll data.
- Assist with other payroll functions, as required.
**BENEFITS**:
- Administer the company's Canadian benefits program, including new hire enrolments, employee changes, billing inquiries, invoice reconciliations and claims / cost reporting.
- Administer pension contributions.
- Administer short and long-term disability programs.
- Respond to employee benefit inquiries and work with benefits providers to resolve any matters that may arise.
- Maintain employee and employer benefit premiums in payroll system.
- Process benefit provider invoices for payment.
- Various other duties as required.
**COMPENSATION**:
- Develop models for the annual merit cycle, monitor all changes and ensure data accuracy during the upload into the HRIS
- Assist in the administration of the annual adjustment cycle which includes reviewing proposed salary adjustments for conformance to established guidelines and practices
- Audit jobs for content and prepare job descriptions reflecting responsibilities, activities, tasks, and requirements
- Maintain Darling Canada's job evaluation structure
**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS**:
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Human Resources, Payroll, or a Business related discipline.
- 1-2 years' experience processing payroll
- Experience with Oracle HCM, ADP GlobalView and/or Kronos Workforce Ready considered an asset.
- Working towards CHRP and/or PCP designation.
- Strong attention to detail is a must.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
- Must be a self-starter with strong initiative.
- Ability to ensure integrity of data and confidentiality of employee information.
- Bilingual French/English an asset.
