CAP holds meetings with members of the government to find practical ways to improve federal programs, policies and services for off-reserve Indigenous Peoples.

**Summary**

Reporting to the Director of Policy Development, the Researcher will focus on reviewing the work of the Political Accord, identifying gaps in knowledge, and conducting research to support CAP’s policy work to close those gaps.

**What You’ll Do**
- Conduct secondary research analyses related to the Political Accord.
- Conduct primary qualitative research in the area of Political Accord-related issues.
- Identify gaps in knowledge and conduct research to support CAP’s policy work to close those gaps.
- Develop a fulsome strategy to gather knowledge on information gaps and a report enabling CAP to present and discuss policy issues better.
- Prepare reports, correspondence, presentations and draft discussion statements, including recommendations for consideration.

**You’ll Need To Have**
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in social sciences or a related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience; a Master’s degree in a relevant field is an asset.
- Three to five years experience in the Indigenous policy or socio-economic research field and demonstrate work history related to Indigenous organizations.
- Experience leading collaborative work plans and managing complex projects with external partners to ensure final products reflect organizational priorities.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English at the project management level. French is an asset.
- Advanced writing skills, including proposal writing ability, public speaking, and presentation skills, and active listening skills.
- Exceptional organizational skills and ability to effectively coordinate multiple competing priorities to meet deadlines
- Must have an understanding of issues for off-reserve Indigenous Peoples living in urban, rural, remote and isolated areas throughout Canada

**Our Working Conditions**
- Hybrid work will be performed from the CAP National Office
- Remote working arrangements are permitted for employees residing outside of the Ottawa region.
- Occasional weekend and evening work
- Salary commensurate with experience
