Reporting to the Senior Director, Professional Practice, the Manager, Research, plays a critical role in leading and supporting the evaluation, collection and delivery of reliable data, assessment of evidence, creation of high-quality research reports and implementation of impactful projects to inform and guide the work of the organization.

As a strong contributor to the Professional Practice Team, the Manager, Research will provide knowledge and leadership in the design and development of research projects and initiatives to advance CPA’s strategic objectives.

**What You'll be working on**
- Key Duties_
- Oversees the production of high-quality research and policy reports
- Liaises directly with advisory committees or working groups established by the CPA
- Works proactively with the Professional Practice team, other departments and components/partners to ensure that the organization’s policy, practice, and research activities are all bolstered by a robust evidence base
- Builds strong relationships with the physiotherapy academic community in Canada and internationally, including with leading researchers, clinical practitioners, and academic programs/institutions
- Supports and informs the CPA’s advocacy, policy and research efforts and initiatives
- Collaborates on externally led research projects that are aligned with the CPA’s policy, research, and advocacy agenda
- In consultation with Advocacy and Professional Practice Teams, monitors practice innovation trends, conducts literature reviews and environmental scans, consults with technical experts, completes systematic analysis of data and information, and synthesizes multiple perspectives on policy issues that impact the profession and the wider health care system.

- Engaging and working with external consultants as needed to support on CPA’s research projects
- Building and sustaining a robust network of national policy experts who advise and inform CPA’s work
- Leading organizational efforts to help develop and ensure that all communications, advocacy, and policy work is grounded in sound research and data (Op-Eds, letters to the editor, media statements, talking points for the media, committee / conference presentations, etc).
- Manage database access/resource needs for the Department, and serves as key contact for relationship management with external library information services
- Supports the organization through developing and answering research questions relevant to key projects, including but not limited to scope of practice, advanced practice, evaluating profession trends, assessment of evidence to inform clinical practice guidelines, etc.
- Regular evaluation and analysis of profession data from external sources (CIHI, Government of Canada, regulators, etc.) and development of data visualizations to support the organization
- Leads activities that support bridging research findings into clinical practice

**What you’ll need to have**
- Minimum four to five (4-5) years professional experience in the field of research project management and design, analysis, and dissemination of findings
- Masters level or equivalent studies in health sciences, health policy or related field
- Superior analytical and project management skills
- Highly organized with a very high level of attention to detail
- Ability to manage daily workload and multiple projects concurrently, establish priorities and work independently
- Demonstrated ability to work across various organizational departments, fostering efficiency, teamwork, and leadership
- The ability to formulate research questions to initiate and drive complex policy and research projects
- The ability to read, analyze, and synthesize healthcare data and research, and be adept at translating and disseminating findings in an impactful way

**It would be nice for you to have**
- A background, education, and experience with the profession of rehabilitation, physiotherapy or rehabilitation research is considered a strong asset
- The ability to communicate in both official languages
