**Job Description**:
In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health), patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.

Reporting to the Director, Contract Policy & Standards or designate the Contract Management Educator provides education and serves as a resource, coach, and facilitator to the Contract Management Office (CMO) and any program areas within Island Health relating to contracting, procurement, contract management, Island wide initiatives, operational changes and quality improvement (CMO and program related). The Contract Management Educator works to uphold Island wide contracting policy and standards through regular meeting, auditing and evaluation cycles. The Contract Management Educator applies a broad knowledge base of procurement, contracting and contract management operations, education design and development, change management, and process consultation. The Contract Management Educator promotes a positive learning culture, stays current with recent development in procurement, contracting and contract management policies and procedures and researches best practice.

Travel may be a requirement of this position. Transportation arrangements must meet the operational requirements of Island Health in accordance with the service assignment and may require the use of a personal vehicle.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Education, Training And Experience**:
A Bachelor's degree with an emphasis on adult education and training, and a minimum of five (5) years' recent, related experience, preferably in a contracting environment or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Valid BC Driver's License.

**Skills And Abilities**:

- Ability to educate in groups or one-to-one.
- Ability to analyze and interpret evaluation results of training.
- Demonstrated skills and abilities in oral and written communications, public speaking, presentation and facilitation.
- Ability to conduct research and gather information using a variety of methods.
- Ability to prepare written reports.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with MS Word, spreadsheets and graphics.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member.
- Excellent organizational, customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
