You will be instrumental in supporting our Clinical Program through educational module development and helping to design an event commemorating 15 years of work supporting survivors of family violence

**ABOUT THE ROLE**:
IslamicFamily has been working in the area of Family Violence since 2019. Through this program, we are providing culturally and spiritually sensitive counseling and outreach services to immigrants, newcomers/refugees, faith-based families/individuals who are experiencing or exposed to, or at risk of family violence. This year we have completed 15 years of this program and are working on showcasing our work.
Through this program, we have created an online module for service providers. We are building a module on Coercive Control. Coercive control is a form of domestic abuse, or intimate partner violence. It describes a pattern of behaviours a perpetrator uses to gain control and power by eroding a person’s autonomy and self-esteem. This can include acts of intimidation, threats, and humiliation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Online Educational Module (For Service Providers)
**Research**: 15 hours per week
With the support and guidance of the Senior Expert Family Violence Prevention Staff, you’ll:

- Conduct online research and literature searches on the topic of Coercive Control in the context of domestic violence.
- Distill the research materials to a presentable form that is practical, effective, and caters to the needs of frontline workers
- Regularly meet to share research results and developed content.
- Support the design and launch of the first Coercive Control module.

**Family Violence**: Celebrating 15 years
20 hours/ week
- With the support and guidance of the Senior Expert Family Violence Prevention Staff, you’ll create:

- Campaign material to celebrate 15 years of family violence work.
- Explore and develop the content of all the important program achievements
- Capturing family violence survivors', volunteers' and stakeholders’ stories
- Work closely with the communication team to support and create family violence survivors’, volunteers’, and stakeholders’ videos showcasing these stories.
- Plan two events:

- For the community members in October
- For stakeholders in November.

**General Responsibilities**:

- Other duties as assigned to support these projects
- Attend regular weekly clinical program meetings, monthly staff meetings, and check-ins with the Senior Expert Family Violence Prevention staff, communications team and with the HR/ CSJ team as required

**Work Plan**:By Day 30**:

- The individual hired for this role will have a clear understanding of the role
- Would be deeply involved in the research and development of content.

By Day 60
- Research for the module would be completed.
- Working on improving and finalizing the content
- Regular meeting with instructional Designerto get feedback on content

By Day 90
- Module completed by instructional designer.
