**Job Summary**
The Manager, Indigenous Relations - Reconciliation Action is responsible for leading the CN Progressive Aboriginal Relations Certification from the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business (CCAB). Furthermore, the role is accountable for the production and annual reporting on the CN Reconciliation Action Plan and leveraging donations and sponsorships to Indigenous communities and organizations as well as the visibility of the Indigenous Relations team in collaboration with the CN Communications team. The role liaises with a wide variety of functions within CN in order to understand the ongoing commitments as well as develop and put in place proper governance.
**Main Responsibilities**
- Understand, implement, and live CN's Indigenous vision and strategy and approach matters in an enlightened and respectful fashion
- Understand the overall business plan and the role that Indigenous Relations plays in supporting the strategy and initiatives
- Understand the culture, history, nuances, rituals, organizational structures, symbolism, and social complexities of Indigenous communities
- Lead the CN Progressive Aboriginal Relations (PAR) Certification from the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business (CCAB), including the submission process with different departments and renewal process every three years
- Create a system to track progress and facilitate the renewal in the future
- Support the development of the CN Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), ensure proper governance in place, and lead the annual public reporting process on progress of CN towards its commitments in the RAP as well as any other reporting (e.g., sustainability report, employment equity)
- Lead all the communications for the Indigenous Relations team (e.g., visibility of the Team and Reconciliation Journey)
- Be responsible for the Indigenous Relations Web page and Intranet contents and review with the support from the Indigenous Relations Coordinator
- Ensure donations and sponsorship activation with the support from the Indigenous Relations Coordinator
**Working Conditions**
The role has standard working conditions in an office environment with a regular workweek from Monday to Friday. Due to the nature of the role, the incumbent must be able to meet tight deadlines, handle pressure and stress. The incumbent must be available to work shifts and weekends when necessary. The incumbent may have to work in hazardous environments when visiting various communities and must employ focus in stressful situations. The role requires some travel (up to 10%) across Canada.

**Experience**
Indigenous Engagement and Relations
- Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience in the field of Indigenous Engagement and Relations, Communications, Governance or Sustainability
**Education/Certification/Designation**
- Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Political Science, Indigenous Studies, or another related field or extensive experience in Indigenous Engagement and Relations

**Technical Skills/Knowledge**
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Fluently bilingual both written and verbal (English, French)
- Knowledge of CN Operations and Network, and Indigenous communities*
- Knowledge of CN railway, structure, marketing, and other systems*
- Knowledge of PAR*
- Any knowledge for any of the above would be considered as an asset
