**Role Responsibilities**:
The Affordability and Utilities Ministry is currently seeking an agile, self driven and proactive Ministry Supports Officer reporting to the Manager, Accommodations and Facilities, Affordability & Utilities.

The Accommodations and Facilities Team is responsible for supporting the department as a whole to ensure corporate systems and services are in place to deliver on the priorities established by Cabinet. It provides the backbone support that allows the department's program and operational areas to function. The unit is responsible for providing strategic advice, business services, and ensuring the successful transition to a shared services model for other successful shared corporate services within Affordability and Utilities (AU).

Reporting to the Manager of Accommodations and Facilities, the Ministry Supports Officer is the department's interface with other ministries providing shared services, including Service Alberta and Red Tape Reduction (SARTR), the Public Service Commission, Justice, Technology and Innovation, and Treasury Board and Finance (TBF), to ensure alignment, integration, and advancement of goals meet the ministry mandate.

This position is responsible for coordinating and driving processes related to AU's in the areas of:

- Business continuity planning (BCP)
- Contract and procurement management services
- Information management and technology,
- Freedom of Information and Protection Privacy (FOIP)
- Occupational health and safety
- Finance, legal services, internal communications etc.
- Implementation of the Enterprise resource planning (ERP) process

The Ministry Supports Officer provides advice and support in the management of shared services to ensure the department achieves optimal service levels. This position is expected to build and maintain relationships and enhance understanding of the department's business requirements to preserve and improve AU's services.

Co-ordinating the facilities budget to ensure AU needs are met for all teams, including the maintenance of equipment is also central to the responsibilities in this role.

**Qualifications**:

- University graduation in a related field plus 2 years progressively responsible related experience; or equivalent as described below.
- **Equivalency**: Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of:
- 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or
- 1 year of experience for 1 year of education

**Preferred assets in this role**:

- Detailed understanding and experience in Purchasing and contract management practices as well as the Treasury Board and Finance(TBFD) guidelines for contracts and small purchases
- Experience in graphics software to both manage floor plans and create graphics (posters and signage)
- Experience with reading and managing floor plans, user space needs and determining floor weigh load:

- Infrastructure building management and furniture software such as Work Order Tracking Requests(WORTs) and FWORTS
- General building software (GWL, Access card management)
- Optional Remuneration Arrangement - OpRA (Parking)
- Holman Fleet management software
