Office location – Edmonton. This is an office-based role.

The Program Associate, Indigenous Ministries provides administrative and program support to the National Indigenous Anglican Archbishop (NIAA). The Program Associate also provides support for activities of the broader Indigenous Ministries.

Candidates who are Indigenous or have worked in an Indigenous environment are strongly preferred. Candidates should also have experience with collaborative and co-operative decision-making processes used in Indigenous communities.

  • Administrative supports can include writing materials, responding to calls and emails, ensuring online information is accurate, developing administrative processes, and supporting staff, volunteers and committee members.
  • Meeting supports range from small group video calls to multi-day events in off-site locations. Activities can include agenda and minute preparation as well as organizing off-site meeting rooms, meals, accommodations and activities.

Financial administration ranges from reviewing cheque requisitions and invoices, tracking budget expenses, supporting grant applications and granting processes. Responsible for administering resources such as books, videos and pamphlets.

Skills and Education

  • Intermediate to strong skills with Word, Excel and Outlook. PowerPoint skills are required.
  • Experience setting up meetings and events in live and online formats preferred.
  • Accurate math skills such as expense administration will be assessed.
  • Interpersonal skills acquired from working with professionals and confidential information.
  • At least two years of broad administrative experience.
  • Relevant diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience living or working in Indigenous or multicultural contexts preferred.
