**Role Responsibilities**:
The Grant Advisor is responsible for the ongoing delivery and compliance management of the Alberta Community Partnership (ACP) and the Local Government Fiscal Framework - Operating (LGFF-O) to Alberta municipalities and Metis settlements. Ongoing responsibilities include the interpretation of program funding agreements, legislation, regulations, and guidelines, and providing policy input from a grant processing perspective to department staff and partners to inform program development and changes.
- Administer municipal grant programs, with a primary focus on the Alberta Community Partnership program, ensuring efficient and compliant program delivery.
- Provide expert advice to municipalities, provincial government, and public stakeholders on grant eligibility, compliance, program effectiveness, and issue resolution.
- Lead and coordinate responses to Ministerial Action Requests, Information Requests, and media inquiries regarding municipal grant funding.
- Identify and resolve complex grant processing and program issues, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to address competing interests and mitigate potential political impacts.
- Offer leadership, guidance, and training to municipalities, Metis settlements, municipal associations, industry representatives, department staff, and senior management involved in grant program delivery and municipal funding.

**Qualifications**:
**Required**: A degree in a related field such as Public Administration, Planning, Political Science, or English, plus four years of related work experience in government or a field related to one of the above degrees, or a certificate in Local Government or equivalent and four years' related work experience in government or a field related to one of the above degrees.

**Equivalencies**:

- 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or
- 1 year of experience for 1 year of education.
