**How will this role support our team?**

The HR Generalist will utilize their collaboration, critical thinking and communication skills to support the Manager, Human Resources in the provision of a range of HR services including policies and procedures, recruitment and retention, employee relations, employee engagement, talent development, compensation and benefits, health and safety and legislative compliance.

Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to)*
- Support the Manager, Human Resources in delivering strategic, operational and functional programs and services that are aligned with the College’s strategic objectives.
- Provide guidance and support to clients on policies and procedures, full cycle recruitment, employee relations, employee engagement, talent development, compensation and benefits, health and safety and legislative compliance.
- Support the Manager, Human Resources to develop, implement, and administer employee engagement initiatives that enhance the employee experience.
- Identify and address issues/trends that affect the College including morale, turnover, absenteeism, efficiency, and productivity.
- Assist in the development of new policies and/or identify updates to existing policies.
- Co-create and/or present training materials on a range of employment-related topics.
- Update the HRIS and provide reports to clients.
- Keep up to date and ensure compliance with legislative requirements, employment laws and emerging trends.

**This role will support our team by providing**:

- Customer focus and service orientation with an ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels of the College
- Time management and organizational skills to manage competing priorities and deadlines
- Flexibility to work in a fast-paced, changing environment as a collaborative team player who demonstrates initiative
- Interpersonal and stakeholder relationship management skills to engage with others respectively
- Written and verbal communication skills to prepare human resources documentation, provide advice on difficult conversations, conduct interviews, explain HR policies and represent the College effectively and respectfully
- Ability to be proactive and take initiative to address systemic issues and recommend options for consideration
- Computer literacy, including word processing software, spreadsheet functions, database use and internet search capabilities
- Experience with BambooHR is an asset

**Required Education and Experience**
- 3-5years of progressive experience as an HR Generalist, ideally in a regulatory, public or not-for-profit organization
- CHRP/CHRL (or provincial equivalent) designation in progress
- Knowledge of HR best practices, trends and applicable employment legislation (e.g., _Canadian Human Rights Act_, _Canada Labour Code_, _Accessible Canada Act_, _Pay Equity Act_)
