Unison Health and Community Services is a non-profit, community-based organization that serves neighbourhoods in North West Toronto. Operating out of six locations, Unison offers core services that include primary health care, counselling, health promotion, Early Years programs, legal services, harm reduction programs, housing assistance, adult protective services, Pathways to Education and a Diabetes Education Program. Unison’s mission is working together to deliver accessible and high-quality health and community services that are integrated, respond to needs, build on strengths, and inspire change.

Unison is seeking a Project Coordinator, Enhanced Safety Networks who will be responsible for supporting resident-led safety networks, identifying annual priorities, organizing events, and sustaining adequate membership. This role will collaborate with, and support, the Community Ambassador.

The Project Coordinator, Enhanced Safety Networks, will report to the Director, Pathways to Education.

**Job-Specific Responsibilities**:

- Identify strategic approaches to increase uptake of service coordination for intended individuals and communities within assigned neighbourhoods.
- Act as primary liaison for Unison with the City of Toronto
- Consult and collaborate with key stakeholders in community including TCHC, Provincial Youth Outreach Workers, Probation and Parole, Boards of Education, Ontario Works Family Caseworkers, mental health, and employment focused agencies, stakeholders within Unison (Youth Violence Prevention, Community Violence, Well Being & Recovery Project) and other service providers as required regarding the needs of gang involved families.
- Facilitate Safety Network Planning, identify priorities, Community of Practice, team meetings, ensure minutes are taken, keep partners updated on current trends and upcoming opportunities that further enhance capacity building.
- Amplify City messaging about the Safety Network and coordinate development of content such as public service announcements, social media posts, animations, and videos.
- Deal with confidential and sensitive information regarding operations, assets, and resources within the Safety Network Project in professional manner
- Compile quarterly/monthly Safety Network Project status reports, work plan updates on activities, highlights, and budgets
- Remain agile and ready to adapt to developing project needs.

**Job-Specific Qualifications**:

- Ability to provide and direct outreach and service in “non-traditional”, and culturally appropriate community-based ways that are responsive to the needs of gang involved families and marginalized communities.
- Ability to direct Community Ambassador to culturally appropriate prevention and intervention services through cross community conflict and training supports, including youth violence education, cultural and community education, and mental health supports.
- Lived experience and/or experience working with Indigenous Peoples, Black Peoples, and Newcomer communities and organizations an asset.
- Lived experience and/or experience working with marginalized communities and families impacted by gun violence, human trafficking, food scarcity, unemployment, mental health, and cross-community conflict.
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in social services or field relevant to youth development, family development, social justice systems, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience identifying network needs and conducting research to develop best practice strategies.
- Experience designing and delivering community-based projects/programs.
- Experience with safety networks, practices, training, and evaluation methodologies
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
- Fundamental knowledge of organizational effectiveness principles and how they relate to overall program outcomes.
- Ability to learn new reporting systems (e.g., online contact referral process and electronic tracking systems) to track and initial contacts into the pilot.
