Manitoba Student Aid is a branch within the Department of Advanced Education and Training. The branch is responsible for the administration of the Canada Student Financial Assistance Program and the Manitoba Student Aid Program within the province. These programs provide student loans, grants and bursaries to eligible Manitobans enrolled in post secondary educational institutions.

Conditions of Employment:

- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Must be able to provide and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check
- Must be physically capable of performing the duties of the position such as lifting equipment (up to 20 kgs.) such as PCs, note book computers, presentation equipment and monitors.

Qualifications:
Essential:

- Post-secondary education in the fields of Business Systems or Information Technology. Other equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered
- Experience developing and maintaining business processes and procedures
- Business analysis experience, including creating, documenting and supporting system testing
- Proficiency in Microsoft software (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Access and Excel) with the ability to learn new systems and software quickly
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to coach and train others in a respectful manner
- Ability to work with confidential materials and safeguard restricted information
- Excellent written communication skills with the ability to write reports, training manuals and reference materials
- Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to lead meetings and deliver training
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to embrace innovation to find solutions

Desired:

- Experience understanding and interpreting Acts, Regulations, policies, procedures and guidelines and how they impact operations

**Duties**:
Reporting to the IT Systems Manager, the incumbent is responsible for supporting Information Technology (IT) systems and software for the Manitoba Student Aid Branch. This includes coordinating activities and conducting user testing of system upgrades and system modifications. The Systems Coordinator is also involved in planning to ensure the branch’s technological requirements are met and supporting the creation and generation of the branch’s statistical reports. This position acts as a resource on new technology projects, and is responsible for desktop system coordination and support. This position works closely with the Business Analysts and IT staff on all Information Technology related activities and seeks guidance and support for business requirements gathering, test planning, change management and project management.
