Quality Improvement and Resource Lead

Position Overview
This role works in partnership with department leadership and front line staff, providing relevant data analysis, project management and logístical support. The Quality, Resource & Process Improvement Leader is responsible for leading quality review programs utilizing data and workflow studies to effectively assess departmental processes, make recommendations, implement changes and assess to ensure seamless, safe, timely, and consistent quality services to hospital customers. Creates practical approaches to effectively manage improvement while incorporating change management principles. The leader provides leadership with the Manager to ensure staff safety practice and quality are maintained, engages staff in the use of evidence-based best practice, and promotes a culture of continuous practice improvement. This leader also functions to support staff supervision and feedback to front line staff through the evaluation of quality studies and performance reviews. Facilitates effective and efficient staff work flows in the provision of services to the hospital ultimately supporting patient care while ensuring wise use of resources. This leader utilizes their knowledge of quality process improvement, process workflows, data and customer service to positively impact patient and material access and flow within the hospital. The role collaborates closely with the Manager for corporate change initiatives; realizing the goals of the unit and review of staff performance.
Education
- Undergraduate degree in healthcare or business related discipline or Health Care Administration preferred
- Regulated Health Professional (i.e. RN, RD, OT, etc ) preferred
- Masters’ degree in a field of health administration preferred
Experience
- Minimum 2 years’ experience with Performance Improvement, Data Analysis, Project Management, and Change Management in a Healthcare Environment
- Solid analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to act as a change agent and manage projects.
- Critical thinker with proven ability to learn quickly, analyze effectively and create realistic options, solutions and action plans
- Strong team facilitation skills and ability to provide clarity on goals and pathways to achieve success
- Flexible, organized, and self-directed within scope of responsibility; has initiative and independent judgment.
- 3 - 5 years progressive experience in a hospital supervisory capacity in a Hospital or Institutional environment
- Leadership experience in thehealth care system with experience working in a dynamic customer service environment
- Facilitation skills with front line staff and performance management of staff.
- Working knowledge of PIDAC Guidelines and Environmental legislation, WHIMIS, Occupational Health & Safety legislation an asset
- Experience teaching adult learners and the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Effective conflict resolution skills and proven ability to provide constructive feedback
- Experience managing customer relations and expectations
- Demonstrated knowledge of the service requirements for cleaning, linen, portering, and waste management
- Experience working in unionized environments and working knowledge of collective agreements
- Self-starter with the personal motivation to work independently, with mínimal supervision, and to collaborate with hospital leaders
- Demonstrated computer literacy in Windows environment: Word, Excel and Outlook
- Good work and attendance record required
- Member of the Ontario Hospital Housekeeping Association or Canadian Association of Environmental Management preferred
