The team

The Opportunity

The HR Strategy & Governance team is looking for an HR Continuous Improvement and Design Lead to join and contribute to the portfolio-wide direction of the team’s mandate and execution, ensuring compliance with university-brand standards, accessibility legislation and principles of inclusion. In this role, you will lead the implementation of a vision and strategy to develop cohesive, comprehensive and clear HR Continuous Improvement and Optimization/Innovation plans. You will also provide expertise in the transformational journey of the HR department to support an exceptional employee and client experience and deliver on HR’s commitment to continuous improvement.

Other responsibilities includes:

Driving research, analysis and business-case driven solutioning of operational issues and recommendations that align to industry best practices and overall Strategy & Governance strategic plans and goals. Leading stakeholders (across HR and employees) through consultative and facilitative workshops and meetings drawing relevant insight and data to identify continuous improvement opportunities. Supporting the design, build and management of the HR Integrated Roadmap and Playbook
Designing and implementing employee experience frameworks that drive transformation initiatives to ensure HR delivers on its strategic priorities and commitment to continuous improvement. Leading the design of features or flows from conception to prototype considering impacts to identified stakeholders. Refining requirements based on prototyping, hands on testing, and iterative feedback, acting as a bridge between end user desires and technical realities. Managing change in support of implementation of user design (UX) projects. Developing robust change management practices to support successful implementation and improvement of UX programs and initiatives. Leading Knowledge Management optimization, content development, collaboration with team for implementation and communication to impacted stakeholders. Encouraging a culture of knowledge-sharing and collaborative workflow among departments and project teams. Defining and overseeing Knowledge Management governance framework. In collaboration with Administration and Operations Communications, developing HR website strategy and planning, maintaining a user experience focus and design thinking principles. Leveraging analytics to evaluate business impact, track the usage, defining the efficiency of the knowledge base content, and reporting findings/recommendations to stakeholders. Working with a variety of stakeholders across many client-facing projects specific to Strategy and Governance, applying skills in translating concepts into clear illustrations, copy, and strategies to improve the employee and client experience.
 

Qualifications
To help us learn more about you, please provide a cover letter and resume describing how you meet the following required qualifications:

Completion of a post-secondary degree, preferably in a business administration, human resources, or related programs. A minimum of three (3) years of relevant work experience in HR transformation and/or continuous improvement and user experience (UX) design roles, preferably in an educational or public sector organization. Experience identifying optimization opportunities, developing and implementing short and long-term strategic plans, including large scale projects and initiatives, management of junior resources, developing and implementing new or enhanced processes, and change management.  Experience leading projects, workshops and providing status updates to senior leaders and stakeholders. Experience in developing business requirements, process analysis and process improvement. Excellent project management skills, including planning, resource and budget scheduling, and risk management to lead concurrent projects; strong organizational skills, ability to manage multiple initiatives with strong consulting skills to work across lines of business/regions to influence decisions for a positive outcome. Strong awareness of market innovations and trends; identifies improvements and extensions to existing HR programs, processes, and technology to enhance the overall HR client experience. Strong digital literacy, with the capabilities to envision and build new models, tools, and ways of working while leveraging technology and digital enablers. Strong entrepreneurial mindset, that relentlessly explores opportunities, tackles problems, discovers and implements new ways of working to achieve better outcomes. Relationship building and communication skills to work with clients and stakeholders not familiar with project management. Passion for continuous improvement and enthusiasm for collaboration, co-design and user experience outcomes. Strong analytical skills, with an ability to identify potential problems and develop mitigating strategies. Demonstrated expertise in best practices as it relates to equity, diversity and inclusion in a workplace environment. Superior (oral / written) communication including strong presentation skills. Self-directed capabilities including demonstrable ability to work independently and as part of a high-performance team. Critical thinking and strategic planning skills.
