**About the Role**:
AlayaCare is looking for a talented External Communications Manager to join our marketing team Reporting to the Director of Content Marketing, you will lead media relations and global storytelling, working with the larger content marketing team to craft the message we take to the media and analyst communities. You'll ensure that AlayaCare's unique value proposition is effectively communicated with North American media, increasing brand awareness and thought leadership for the company and executive team.

An External Communications Manager for us requires a self-motivated, passionate, resourceful, responsible communications professional with the confidence and experience to lead complex, strategic programs. With strong attention to detail, relationships with media, and the ability to think creatively about how and where to feature and pitch the AlayaCare story. For this role, having experience in the healthcare space and dealing with Quebec media is a plus.

**What you'll be responsible for**:

- Building and fostering North American and international media relationships, including those with print, online, and broadcast outlets
- Crafting exciting, creative messages and stories that set AlayaCare apart from its competition and secure us top-tier media placements
- Serving as a thought leader, proactively generating ideas, strategies, and tactics.
- Writing and overseeing the creation of media materials, including press releases, key messages, spokesperson Q&A, media pitches, and bylined articles.
- Leading the development of a strategic speakers' bureau, ensuring coordination with internal stakeholders.
- Fostering and maintaining positive relationships with key media on behalf of AlayaCare
- Working directly with leaders across the company to train and prepare them for media interactions and hone their specific narrative and thought leadership platforms

**What we're looking for**:

- Bachelor's Degree in a related field (Marketing, Corporate Communications, Business, etc.)
- 6+ years of experience in a communications role within Marketing
- 3+ years of experience in a software/b2b environment; experience in hyper-growth or healthcare tech is strongly preferred
- You are tech-savvy and have experience using various mar-tech and collaboration tools
- You have excellent media relations skills and close relationships with national business, technology, and enterprise media, as well as vertical industry trade media
- You have excellent English writing, editing, and proofreading skills, as well as the journalistic ability to source stories from customers, employees, and the industry
- You bring building outbound communications strategies that address specific business needs, integrating with other teams, and delivering results
- You thrive in a fast-paced environment and can manage multiple projects and deadlines
- You know how to bring a creative and different lens to PR that drives results
- A good understanding of integrated communications programs and the ability to lead them with a focus on press relations and storytelling
- You are comfortable working with senior executives or a C-suite; confidence in dealing with senior executives and recommending communication techniques
- Healthcare/Health tech industry experience would be a definite asset
- Bilingualism in French/English is strongly preferred
- Experience pitching and working with Quebec Media Outlets is a definite asset
