**About JWest**

The Jewish community of Greater Vancouver is in the midst of the largest communal project in its history
- JWest. This ambitious project includes the rejuvenation of the Jewish Community Centre of Greater Vancouver, King David High School and the Vancouver Holocaust Education Centre, and is followed by the development of two towers of residential housing, a portion of which will be below market. The JWest capital campaign has raised over $110,000,000 and is in the final stages of its fundraising as we prepare for construction start.

**Position Summary**

The role requires creativity and an impeccable attention to detail. Accurate recording of donor interactions and information is a key responsibility. Records must be kept current on all relevant communications from and to the donor, specifically around gift recognition and pledge fulfilment.

Finally, the Stewardship Officer will be responsible for the ongoing communication with donors regarding recognition and ensuring that the execution of donor recognition is as promised in the gift agreements. It requires an individual who is specifically focused on stewardship versus the cultivation and solicitation of gifts and works in tandem with the fundraising staff and volunteers to support donor-centric fundraising.

**Responsibilities**:
Below is a partial list of job responsibilities that would vary depending on the skills of the Officer and the phase of the project.
- Create a stewardship program that provides tailored communications with donors that keep them connected to their gift and the project.
- Design and deliver meaningful and personal thank you’s for each gift.
- Identify personal milestones such as birthdays, gift agreement anniversaries, completion of gifts and create unique, personalized acknowledgements.
- Send relevant articles or project updates to specific donors when they have indicated an interest.
- Lead the creation and distribution of the e-newsletter (currently quarterly and potentially monthly).
- Maintain donor recognition list and communicate to donors when their dedicated gift has been altered.
- Write stewardship reports for major donors.
- Design and deliver stewardship events (e.g. social gatherings, learning opportunities, building tours).
- Ensure that the donor database is accurate and up to date.
- Liaise with the partner agencies to confirm receipt of gifts and synchronize donor communications.
- Gather donor testimonials to be used in marketing materials.
- Lead the creation of gift announcements or donor videos as per the established stewardship guidelines.
- Ensure all gift agreements are current and contact major donors to update as needed.

**Qualifications**

This position requires prior experience in Major Gifts fundraising with experience in face-to-face donor engagement and a proven ability to create meaningful relationships with seasoned philanthropists. More specifically
- A strong sense of fundraising ethics and practices and respect for the confidentiality of donor information.
- Excellent written communication skills, including the ability to write a variety of documents, such as proposals, reports, and correspondence.
- Knowledge of and ability to create attractive and informative reports, newsletters and other communications is considered an asset.
- Strong organizational skills, including attention to detail.
- Knowledge of and ability to use a CRM is considered an asset.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment making independent decisions and discerning when such independence is warranted.
- Demonstrated success in coordinating all details related to special events, such as planning, budgeting, committee formation, invitations, mailings, catering, staffing, and press.
- A collegial, collaborative style.

**Benefits and Compensation**

**Employment type**: Permanent, Full time (35 hours/week)
**Location**: Must work in the Vancouver office (950 W. 41st Avenue) three days per week
**Level**: Intermediate, reports to the Capital Campaign Director
**Salary Range**: $66,351 - $77,052 commensurate with experience
