**What you’ll do**:
- Our Donor Relations team is expanding and looking for an experienced donor relations professional. Reporting to the Director, Donor Relations, the Associate Director will work closely with Foundation teams in developing impactful engagement experiences that will be meaningful and inspirational to our donors as we strive to exceed expectations in every step of the donor journey. In this role, you will manage and provide mentorship to members of the Donor Relations team and assist with the management, growth and deployment of our overall donor engagement strategy.
- More specifically, you will:
- Manage and mentor members of the Donor Relations team, encouraging high-level performance and recognizing individual and team success.
- Act as a liaison and specialist to the Philanthropy teams to create strategies that thoughtfully and proactively provide meaningful and memorable opportunities that cultivate relationships with new prospects and engage and steward current donors - inspiring and exceeding expectations.
- Collaborate with the Director, Donor Relations, in the creation of innovative programs and projects to engage, thank and steward donors, and identify creative and effective mediums to recognize the impact of donor support.
- Lead Donor Relations activities for select donors.
- Utilize tracked donor experience and stewardship data to develop strategies that provide the best opportunity for continued donor support.
- Manage donor concerns proactively to ensure mutually beneficial solutions.
- Along with the Director, Donor Relations, lead Donor Survey initiatives (new/existing donors, post-event, project-based, etc.).
- Proactively oversee Awards program, ensuring that the Foundation is submitting strong, compelling nominations for key donors, staff and volunteers. This can include researching nominee’s donor history and community impact, drafting nomination submissions, and securing letters of support.
- Work with Data and Analytics team to develop a seamless process for list pulls to ensure they are accurate and require mínimal revisions from philanthropy teams.

- As a knowledgeable Donor Relations professional, you aren’t just familiar with best practices in donor relations and project management, you have a passion for uncovering opportunities through innovative strategies and planning that results in exceptional donor experiences and meaningful engagement. This knowledge is complemented by your proven ability to build authentic and professional relationships with colleagues and donors. You have a demonstrated ability to work as a collaborative team player inspiring and fostering a positive work environment.
- In addition, you will have:
- University degree or diploma in business, marketing, or a related field.
- Five + years of senior donor relations and/or fundraising experience in assisting in individual, corporate, community and/or major gift donor stewardship and cultivation strategies.
- Three + years in a supervisory/people management role.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor, coach and inspire philanthropy professionals.
- Deep fundraising knowledge and understanding of donor motivations and their expectations.
- Proven ability to build strong relationships, both internally and externally.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills, including the ability to respond to internal and external partners with tact, diplomacy and discretion.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and adept at problem solving.
- Strong knowledge and experience using databases; Raiser’s Edge NXT is an asset.
- CFRE designation is considered an asset.
