**About the role**:
Canadian Blood Services is looking for a **Temporary Part Time** **Distribution Assistant **to join our dynamic **Supply Chain Operations West** **team**.**

In this role you will be responsible for para‑technical functions of the Laboratory and may be assigned any of the duties and responsibilities listed below. You will adhere to all current operating procedure, practices good judgment in the performance of job responsibilities and promote Centre objectives through good interpersonal skills.

**Formula for success**:

- Drawing on your warehouse inventory experience, you will be receiving and storing blood, fractionation products and maintaining stock of distribution supplies in accordance with all Canadian Blood Services' Standard Operating Procedures and Good Documentation Practices
- With your commitment to Excellence, you will be ensuring safety of blood products through an ongoing monitoring of product and product storage equipment (temperature, humidity variations, etc.) as well as performing recalls and removing outdated products
- Utilizing your communication and your interpersonal skills, you will be issuing blood and related products to our customers such as Provincial Hospitals and other blood centers, and communicating with hospital team about orders placed as required

**Desired skills and education**:

- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong multi-tasking skills, work ethic and ability to follow instructions precisely
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal staff and external stakeholders in an effective and professional manner
- Ability work with others in a multidisciplinary team environment, as well as independently with minimum supervision
- Ability to work variable shifts including days, evenings and weekends
- Physical ability to perform duties of the position (stoop, kneel, crouch, lift and carry boxes/cartons) and lifting up to 50lbs

**What you can expect**:

- Monday 1300-1700. Tuesday/Wednesday Rest Days. Thursday 0800-1600. Saturday 1720-0050. Sunday 1535-2305. 1 hour overtime occasionally required on Sunday shift from 2305-0005. On-call staff are available for urgent off-shift needs (washed/deglyced red cells or empty shifts).
