Part-time Facility Operator

**Typical Duties and Responsibilities**
- Resurface the ice with Zamboni as necessary and ensure a smooth quality surface
- Resurface Mini Rink using hand tools
- Maintain the facility cleanliness through sweeping, mopping, dusting, shoveling, emptying garbages and thoroughly cleaning change rooms, washrooms and showers
- Maintain Zamboni (ie. grease fittings as per schedule), nets/boards/glass in the rink area.
- Minor building maintenance & tasks as required and directed
- Open/close the facility with no supervision.
- Post room assignments as per daily facility schedule

**Qualifications & Experience Required**
- Valid G Licence
- Experience operating Zamboni, Olympia or other heavy machinery an asset
- Experience using an edger an asset
- Able to work in cold on-ice conditions
- Must be physically able to complete repetitive tasks
- Able to work weekday evenings and weekend shifts (see below)
- Mechanical background and refrigeration experience an asset
- Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to follow direction of supervisors

**Shifts & Timing**:

- Wednesdays 5pm - 11pm (+/- an hour based on bookings)
- Sundays 12pm - Close (closing time based on bookings but is generally around 8pm)
- Additional shifts available on occasion

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 - 20 per week

- Janitorial: 1 year (preferred)
- Arena or Hockey: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- G (required)
- Refrigeration License (preferred)
