Reporting to the Program Manager, the Coordinator participates as a member of the management team in the strategic and operations planning and development of policies and procedures for the program, and is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operational requirements of assigned area(s) within the program. The Coordinator leads discussions with the Program Leaders and staff of the assigned area(s) to identify, select, evaluate and introduce new equipment and supplies that support clinical practice in providing safe patient care. Collaborates with health care providers and BCCSS on product utilization and standardization in a safe and cost effective equipment and supplies solution. Assists in the development and implementation of change management processes. Provides input in equipment and supplies contractual arrangements. Organizes clinical trials on new equipment introduced into the assigned area(s). Supervises staff for the assigned area(s) including making determinations on recruitment and selection, performance management, discipline, training, coaching and leading teams. Participates in quality assurance activates, and follow-up on patient safety learning events.

**What you’ll do**
- Provides leadership, guidance and supervision to staff for the assigned area(s) using effective management techniques including recruitment and selection, coaching, mentoring, training and performance management and employee discipline. Approves leave requests and monitors and addresses attendance and overtime. Works in collaboration with Human Recourses in accordance with applicable collective agreements.
- Lead discussions with managers, physicians, respiratory therapists, educators, senior practice leaders and other health care providers in identifying the appropriate equipment and supplies to support clinical practice and safe patient care.
- Oversees and coordinates the planning and procurement process, project implementation and evaluation of equipment and supplies.
- Contributes to the organization of the trial and evaluation of new equipment and products with sales representative and health providers. Activities include developing product evaluation forms to be complete by participants involved in the evaluation process. Complies and analyzes evaluation results and present to committees and leaders.
- Supports the educators with-in-servicing orientation related to equipment to all program area members and orients new employees to existing equipment.
- Liaises with external vendors, outside contractors, BCCSS and In-Hospital Replenishment Department to participate in the negotiation of the program area’s equipment and supplies.
- Participates in quality improvement initiatives and accreditation activities. Recommends adjustments to policy and process improvement on an on-going basis. Assesses and meets quality assurance standards in minimizing and managing critical incidents as it pertains to equipment and supplies.
- Participates in the development of standards and procedures with key stakeholders in accordance to best practice. Provides support for system integration testing, updates, and troubleshooting with users.
- Participates in user meetings; assists and/or undertakes a variety of projects as assigned by Manager as appropriate.

Qualifications
- A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to a recognized Diploma program in a health, business, Supply Chain/logistic or technology related discipline plus three (3) years’ experience in a supply chain or supply systems environment, including two (2) years in a managerial or leadership capacity; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
